Aliens

It's been 76 years since Orson Welles broadcast the "War of the Worlds" ... and not a Martian in sight. Sightings, theories, and conspiracies continue ... but no communication. The hologram has set up the concept of aliens in the form of creation God's though not necessarily spiritual beings that go all the way back to the dualistic beginning of the hologram. Many people believe aliens are out there watching us and that they will return at the end of this cycle called Time. We know there are ships that monitor the hologram ... and that some people allegedly make telepathic communication with what they believe are aliens but are actually the grids. What would Orson Wells think about our experiences and research if he was alive today?

Upgrades

Today was the day I finally upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. My Sprint plan ended on 10/10 /14 just as the new phones arrived. I changed from Sprint to Verizon - better service and great plan that can be canceled whenever - and got the deal of the century at Best Buy. With their current promotions and the trade-in of my old Samsung Galaxy 3 - I was able to do the whole deal and it cost me nothing. I couldn't believe it. Not only that, I have an $82 gift card from Best Buy. I'm learning how to work some of the new features on the phone. It's amazing especially the little pen that comes with it. Next year my phone will update as can I with the new Verizon Plan and a trade-in. It's all changing.

About my 3 new Time Warner DVR boxes that record 6 hours - two weeks later they still don't communicate with each other. The repair guys all say it's a glitch in the program and I smile as if to say what a great metaphor for our reality. Today repairman #6 is scheduled after I finish my clients. Why? Because anything I record on NBC - has no audio. Seriously. How am I supposed to hear Alison Sweeney say good-by after 22 years on "Days of Our Lives" without audio. I stopped watching the soap 2 years ago, but returned for her final scenes. I suppose I can watch her final farewell - though we know she'll be back one day - On Demand. If you're wondering why I don't have Verizon Fios, the cables are in my building but my landlord refuses to sign off on them so that's that. On the upside, the new high-speed modem included in the Time Warner package happens to be the fastest modem I've ever used. It also has a phone jack ... not that I need it but I plugged it into my fax machine ... not that I ever use that. Maybe I'm too old for this? Whether I am or am not .. this is the future of technology - constant updates.

Whoops ... I forgot the mention the latest Mac upgrade - OS X Yosemite. Just as Time Warner should have taken more time with the new DVR cable boxes before sending them out to customers - I never use a new operating system until others tell me it works well. So far the reports on Yosemite are not favorable.

Weather: Since the Halloween nor'easter in 2011 and Hurricane Sandy in 2012 ... we pay attention the weather. Looking good!!

-

Metaphor: Life is a costume party in which we dress for each experience then reflect on ourselves in the mirror - or looking glass - in the illusion of time.

-

Visualization: Visualize the costume that best represents who you would like to be this year or just close your eyes and see what your soul shows you. I would like to be a time traveler. What would that look like? (Ellie closing eyes ... blank screen)

-

When my children were young - before you could buy or rent a great costume - I would sew one for each of my three daughters - Tracy, Zsia, and Nikki. Great fun stuff and memories. Below are photos of two of my daughters and their families. Tracy, in AZ is moving this weekend so I hope to get a photo from her also. Monday their father Ralph returned ... from the dead. He generally comes back around the time of the anniversary of his passing - November 13. I want to see if any of my girls connect with him.

Selfie: Monday my daughter Zsia celebrated her birthday with husband Jon, and sons Michael and Dylan.

Nikki, Ryan, Matthew and Noah went to the Pumpkin Patch on Sunday!

Worldwide Surge in 'Great' Earthquakes Seen in Past 10 Years   NBC - October 26, 2014

Too Close to a Black Hole   APOD - October 26, 2014

What would you see if you went right up to a black hole? Featured is a computer generated image highlighting how strange things would look. The black hole has such strong gravity that light is noticeably bent towards it - causing some very unusual visual distortions. Every star in the normal frame has at least two bright images - one on each side of the black hole. Near the black hole, you can see the whole sky - light from every direction is bent around and comes back to you. The original background map was taken from the 2MASS infrared sky survey, with stars from the Henry Draper catalog superposed. Black holes are thought to be the densest state of matter, and there is indirect evidence for their presence in stellar binary systems and the centers of globular clusters, galaxies, and quasars.

Weekend Wrap Up

This has been an interesting week, all of which is posted on Ezine and in my archived files. How do people feel about ebola here in the city? I have many clients who work in hospitals who are very concerned and feel totally unprepared. People are being overly cautious, washing their hands far more often than they normally would, especially those who take public transportation. Ebola is going to take its toll on the economy. People are urged not to be fearful, but they should be cautious. The winter is coming and with that one must prepare alternative power and heating sources. Time to stock up on needed items. I don't see this as the terrible winter we had last year - remember the polar vortex - but winter is winter and it brings diseases highlighted by Seasonal Affective Disorder suffered by millions of people with depression.

Still and all, there are fun things people can do especially now in the autumn as the leaves turn color and a simple walk in nature can soothe the soul. Actually, when I'm out, I look for adventures, not peace. Yesterday, my friend Jane and I took a walk on a gorgeous day. As we looked out at the Manhattan horizon, we could see the fringes of the hologram. Jane reminded me of the time we watched the Verrazano Bridge literally disappear before our eyes as a new insert was put in place. Life is a far more interesting experience when you can see beyond the parameters of reality.

When I came home, I met my next door neighbor who was getting ready to take her 3 children to their school's Halloween party. As next Friday is Halloween, I wondered why the party was yesterday but there was no time for discussion as she was hurrying along after work. It seems that not only did the New York schools have Halloween parties early but this morning I received these pictures taken in Connecticut as my grandson Matthew and his classmates celebrated Halloween Friday night.

Getting ready with mom.

Hello Clark Kent!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN !!!

Radicalization

In a world where the mentally ill, often substance abusers, and in general lost souls, feel they have nothing to live for - yet are programmed to "make a difference" - media radicalization is creating a new set of terrorists. This is not new, but as everything in our reality merges (back to zero) - this is becoming a global situation. Male and female - they are stepping into the limelight often to make a name for themselves as some sort of martyr for a cause they believe in though may not understand. With suicide rates rising, medications for mental illnesses often failing, and older generations not always the best role models, young adults seek answers that make sense based on their programming. Many are abused - not able to find their way out - so why not do something radical. Dealing with one's issues was foremost in the past but now people are rethinking the endless effort it takes to get there if ever. Not everyone who goes into the world of therapy and healing will make it out as a functional person. Define functional?

Radicalization is a process by which an individual or group comes to adopt increasingly extreme political, social, or religious ideals and aspirations that reject or undermine the status quo or reject and/or undermine contemporary ideas and expressions of freedom of choice. For example, radicalism can originate from a broad social consensus against progressive changes in society. Radicalization can be both violent and nonviolent, although most academic literature focuses on radicalization into violent extremism (RVE). There are multiple pathways that constitute the process of radicalization, which can be independent but are usually mutually reinforcing. Radicalization that occurs across multiple reinforcing pathways greatly increases a group's resilience and lethality. Furthermore, by compromising its ability to blend in with non-radical society and participate in a modern, globalized economy, radicalization serves as a kind of sociological trap that gives individuals no other place to go to satisfy their material and spiritual needs. Sunspots and a Solar Eclipse in Scorpio and Mercury Retrograde

This can't be good.

I woke up Wednesday morning to the sound of crashing thunder followed by lightning that arced across the entire horizon. Thursday update: the rain continues. This feels like a time of cleansing, not just individually but holographically. Many souls will cross over in Scorpio. Not sure why I'm blogging this but - Atlantean energies are returning for those connected. Sun, Moon, Scorpio, Mercury (a.k.a. Hermes, Merlin, Thoth, Z) Something is happening out there. Check it out.

The biggest sunspot of the current solar cycle is turning toward Earth   Spaceweather.com - October 22, 2014
During the past 48 hours, monster sunspot AR2192 has unleashed seven M-class solar flares. The most powerful of the bunch (Oct 22nd at 0159 UT) was an M9-class eruption that almost crossed the threshold into X-territory. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the extreme ultraviolet flash. UV radiation from the flare ionized Earth's upper atmosphere, causing a brief blackout of HF radio communications on the dayside of Earth (e.g., parts of Asia and Australia). In addition, the explosion might have hurled a CME into space. Confirmation awaits the arrival of coronagraph data from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO). Stay tuned for updates. More flares are in the offing.

Oscar de la Renta

July 22, 1932 - October 20, 2014

I have always followed the world of fashion having many clients who are designers, models, muses, and more here in the city. Growing up, my father was a men's fashion designer in NYC, my mom's family, tailors - so designing is in my genes. I briefly studied fashion design considering it as a possible career then guided to become a teacher. I wish I still had some of the designs I created back in school - mostly gowns and other women's fashions. Oscar de la Renta was a well-known icon in the industry - not only back in the day but until the day he died - yesterday. Oscar de la Renta will honored and remembered for his never-ending fashions most recently Amal Clooney.

We live in an era of globalization and the era of the woman. Never in the
history of the world have women been more in control of their destinies.

Oscar de la Renta Quotes

"The only realities in life are that you are born, and that you die," he told an audience at New York's 92Y "Fashion Talks" series in June 2013. "We always think we are going to live forever. The dying aspect we will never accept. The one thing about having this kind of warning is how you appreciate every single day of life."

Designer Oscar de la Renta dies aged 82   BBC - October 21, 2014
US fashion designer Oscar de la Renta, who dressed former first ladies Jackie Kennedy and Hillary Clinton, has died aged 82, US media report. De La Renta, who most recently designed Amal Clooney's wedding dress, was diagnosed with cancer in 2006. Born in the Dominican Republic in 1932, he left home at 18 to study painting in Madrid, Spain. He soon developed a love of fashion design and began an apprenticeship with Spain's designer Cristobal Balenciaga. De la Renta made his name in the early 1960s when the then first lady, Jackie Kennedy, frequently wore his designs. He launched his own label several years later. Over the following decades he dressed nearly every first lady up to and including Michelle Obama, who he once chided for not wearing American designers.

Oscar de la Renta, legendary fashion designer, dies at 82   CNN - October 21, 2014
The man -- often described as the "sultan of suave" -- dressed every first lady since Jacqueline Kennedy. Among those whose glamor factor his dresses jazzed up: Oprah Winfrey, Ann Hathaway and, most recently, George Clooney's bride Amal Alamuddin. "We will always remember him as the man who made women look and feel beautiful," former first lady Laura Bush said late Monday night. De la Renta designed the wedding dress for her daughter, Jenna. The cause of his death, announced by close family friends and industry colleagues, was not immediately clear. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2006, but said last year he was "totally clean."

Autumn Fashion

When I worked and modeled, I always wore the latest fashions, often by famous designers - some of whom became clients later on. As I got older, fashion seemed less important while comfort became more important than brand names. There are clothes for work, media, play, raising children, weight loss and gain, and more.

This winter is about boots ... short and long ... with jeans and pants. Like Hillary Clinton, I'm not much into skirts - perhaps summer dresses - but not that often. Monday, I stopped to see my friend Lorraine, 60's and beautiful, who works in cosmetics at Walgreens in Bay Ridge - and always dresses for work. Dressing up is stylish with hairdressers and many who work in the make-up industry. They wouldn't be caught dead without looking perfect. People in the city who are in the fashion and the design world, usually wear black and are very skinny - straight or gay.

So there we were in the cosmetic aisle ... nothing new to erase-the-lines that some say show character.

Wanting to have some fun, Lorraine took a photo of me then I had a bright idea ...

"Let's checkout the Halloween aisle, talk to some ghosts and take a few photos for a Halloween blog."

This is the best we could do as Frank the manager laughed at us.

Zip-lining

My friend Dean, also in the world of fashion and jelwery design here in the city, emailed that his 74 year old mom in L.A. went zip-lining for the first time this year at the San Diego wild animal park. She also owns 5 horses that roam her 5 acre property. Bravo for someone in my age group.

A zip-line or zip wire consists of a pulley suspended on a cable, usually made of stainless steel, mounted on an incline. It is designed to enable a user propelled by gravity to travel from the top to the bottom of the inclined cable by holding on to, or attaching to, the freely moving pulley. Zip-lines come in many forms, most often used as a means of entertainment. Zip line tours are becoming popular vacation activities, found at outdoor adventure camps or upscale resorts, where they may be an element on a larger challenge or ropes course. The jungles of Costa Rica, Florida, Puerto Vallarta, and Nicaragua are popular destinations for zip line enthusiasts. Read more ...
