I don't keep up with soap operas these days, but it would appear that after decades of entertaining audiences, not only is Oprah leaving with only 29 more shows to go, but two favorite ABC soaps were cancelled - Axe falls on All My Children and One Life to Live after more than 40 years on air. The passing of something that was part of our lives - perhaps off and on - allows one to remember who we were and how consciousness has grown since the shows began. Actually, I am surprised any of the soaps have survived. The only soap I occasionally watch prerecorded is Days of Our Lives which for some reason has been renewed, and should have ended when Marlena and John left.
As you know, my favorite shows fall under the sci-fi genre - I'm not into melodrama and crying - even though, one friend reminds me how one character on Days of Our Lives is always crying. Many of the shows allowed us to grow and expand consciousness beyond human boundaries. Sci-fi shares emotions, love, death, etc., but not the themes of how people heal and overcome obstacles, that most people want to see to help them by identifying with the plight of the characters. I can better identify with a sci-fi character than one who has prolonged suffering and mental illness - just not my thing.
People like to watch the plight of celebrities as they deal with mental illness - not to see another person suffer, but to see how they deal with it, so they can understand their own situations. It's all genetic - therein lies the key to everything one plays out in this reality. Most recently we see Catherine Zeta Jones, Charlie Sheen, and Lindsay Lohan, who all need help. It's a bipolar reality and most people are losing it.
Also ... the concept of broadcasting shows for 3 episodes followed by a break of several weeks, takes away all of the connection one felt in the old days.
I used to love Fringe, but the story-lines have become ridiculous. Surprisingly, the show has been renewed for a fourth season, though I am not sure why. Fringe returns tonight.
Smallville, is also concluding after 10 years and it's about time. How many times can storylines be recycled ... and why can't Clark Kent fly? Smallville returns tonight.
Over at the Syfy Channel, the final Stargate episodes air over the next month on Stargate Universe after which there will be no more Stargates for the first time in 14 years. It's definitely time to move on.
Syfy also features Sanctuary, a show I have grown to love based on the way the characters were developed. I'm not into monsters, but the arc storyline is cool. I especially love John as he teleports through space-time and Nikola Tesla is the funniest Vampire on TV. The special effects are also really cool, using not only green screen but red screen. Sanctuary returns tonight and has also been renewed for a fourth season.
I'm not much up on other sci-fi shows, the fate "V" still hanging in the balance. I would cancel it.
So the morale of the story/stories is/are ... everything has its time and eventually gets cancelled - even our little reality simulation that has been in reruns and time loops, for decades.
As you go through life, you will discover that you are doing things then realizing this is the last time you will ever do them, or you will just stop doing something knowing your programming for it in your life has ended. Watch subliminal motivation now.

Reading Octogenarians
What are the odds of me reading one Octogenarian (80-89) after another in recent weeks? Makes me feel like a youngster. These are not just any octogenarians. They are all of sound mind and into the reality of our situation. Their lives were very different than ours, yet they keep up and feel part of the shift in consciousness, all having psychic abilities. This is indeed a curious pattern. I wonder if Betty White will call before she hits 90 on January 17, 2012.
To me, age means nothing ... just a number .. yet everything is just a number in the simulation we call our reality - from the brain and consciousness - binary code to the fibonacci sequence. It is all just experience and special effects.
