The Jacksons

In a month, where season finales bring many viewers back to the TV screen, I found a very heartfelt story on Entertainment Tonight about Michael Jackson's daughter, Paris, celebrating her 15th birthday with her mother Debbie Rowe. Though Michael was the best dad he could be, it's time for the children to get away from the media circus, and battling Jacksons, they grew up with and see another side of life. Entertainment Tonight reported that Katherine Jackson is in favor of the children developing a relationship with their mom. Once again, another Jackson trial makes the headlines.

The Workshop - Feedback from Students

Sunday's workshop brought together students from different areas on NYC and Long Island, to share in a special afternoon. Dori Ann was the perfect hostess - her home having amazing energies. Of course, there was a birthday event - not mine this time - but Dori Ann's cousin, Andrea, who turned 25. Unusual for me, I didn't think to take pictures, but the memories will remain for each of us. From reality, to energy work, to psychic development, many topics were covered.

A student from Staten Island talked about losing everything when her home - eight house off the beach - was devastated by hurricane Sandy last fall. She described living in her SUV and how everyone came to her aid with things to help her rebuild. She has recently returned to her small bungalow-style home and still keeps in touch with her neighbors who will need months to rebuild. All across the area, clients are still coming to me with stories about destruction and rebuilding ... and everyone knows ... this is just the beginning. From the seismic Pacific coast to the hurricane driven East coast ... people are waking up to reality and where she is going.

Six months after Sandy: 'Home sweet home' for some, others still adrift   MSNBC - April 29, 2013
The construction noises are almost constant at daytime in this coastal enclave six months after Hurricane Sandy, but for many residents whose homes were badly damaged, recovery is moving at a slow pace - or not at all. Many of those displaced by the so-called superstorm say they are stuck in limbo, trying to raise money to pay for repairs or replace their homes while coming to grips with new, federal flood-zone maps that many fear will make it too costly for them to return.

    Hi Ellie
Thank YOU so much! Sunday was great! I had to peel myself out of bed Monday morning, I was so exhausted. haha ... I would love to have another class. We'll discuss. I know my cousin Dre booked an appointment with you for this Saturday. She's very excited! I think the class was a very important step for her. Thanks again! I'll give you a call towards the end of the week. Dori Ann - Media Production. Her next show is "Why Won't You Pick Up Our Garbage?" at the Cherry Lane Theatre in Manhattan on May 17th & 18th.

    Hi Ellie,
The class was a hoot! That was so much fun! I had no idea what to expect and/or what to disclose to the group, so I just let it all out. You should do that every two months or the first Sunday of every month. That was most awesome class I ever attended. Such wonderful people. Thank you for inviting me. Let's do it again! Clell - Actor currently in The Americans (2013 TV series)

    Hi Ellie,
Thanks for your time Sunday. Tell Z I said "hi" and thanks for revealing himself through you. I was wondering who he was. Christel - Partner/Employment Consultant - She also speaks to an entity who goes by the name "Z" and has completed Reiki II. Christel left early to attend the final hours of the Tribeca Film Festival. She wrote: "Best of the Fest" was a documentary about the creative director of Gucci. Not what I would have chosen but it was my first event for a business group I belong to."

One World Trade Center

Monday April 29, 2013

As of this morning - which is really too overcast to take a good picture - this is what I see. I'll take more pictures when the tower is finished and the spire is in place. My former view of the Twin Towers was much better though the spire concept makes sense. It goes along with spiraling consciousness and the gyre or swirling vortex.

The Spire

Last pieces of 1 World Trade Center are rising   AP - April 29, 2013
One World Trade Center already is New York's tallest building. And when the last pieces of its spire rise to the roof - weather permitting - the 104-floor skyscraper that replaces the fallen twin towers will be just feet from becoming the highest in the Western Hemisphere. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says the spire pieces plus a steel beacon will then be lifted at a later date from the rooftop to cap the building at 1,776 feet. Installation of the 800-ton, 408-foot spire began in December, after 18 pieces were shipped from Canada and New Jersey. The spire will serve as a world-class broadcast antenna. With the beacon at its peak to ward off aircraft, the spire will provide public transmission services for television and radio broadcast channels that were destroyed on Sept. 11, 2001, along with the trade center towers.

Checkpoint in Bay Ridge Brooklyn

Saturday April 27, 2013

This afternoon, Exit 2 on the Belt Parkway, just outside my home, became an NYPD checkpoint, as clients and I watched from above. Cops pulled many cars over, but I am not sure who or what they were looking for or if they found anything. They were not issuing tickets, They were searching vehicles, especially larger ones. With the Boston Marathon Bombings just two weeks ago, and the suspects claiming to had planned to bomb NYC, one can't be too careful.

There are so many conspiracies, I hardly know where to begin. From the nature of creation - focus on religion and false gods - to everything we experience - it's all one big secret laced with clues as busy work. Reality is as real as you want to make it ... or not believe in any of it at all.

Old issues return to be reviewed and resolved while new issues surface. Some people are not meant to live together. Many people live best alone.

Designer Medicine

New Jersey, April 2013

My daughter Zsia works with a man named Jack whose son, Michael, developed a rare form of bone cancer 3 years ago at age 6. After treatment, the cancer went into remission, but later returned.

Alas, a new way of finding a treatment was developed. It surprised me that it has never been tried before and makes you wonder why people have to go through endless trials when this type of treatment seems less invasive and less painful.

A piece of Michael's tumor was removed and divided into several sections each one treated differently to see what would work best on his cancer if anything ... and voila .... they found one. Michael is on the road to recovery for now. Watch the story posted on NBC April 17, 2013.

Waking Up!

Sometimes when I wake up, I see a field of dandelions and hear "Dandelions are free". Today, I saw a few remaining dandelions, then the field became lavender, leading me to believe I am not in the old reality. The lavender flowers became muted ... then grayish ... then black ... then just faded away along with the vision, and I woke up. Somewhere in this virtual reality hologram, we are about to wake up. It's not about the dynamics within, but reality outside.

Friday

The current lunar eclipse is resonating unique harmonic codes throughout the consciousness grids that souls are assimilating within their crystalline matrixes. In metaphysics this has been referred to as the "ascension grid" - I just find it interesting to observe. The month of May brings two more eclipses to make things more interesting. (solar eclipse on May 9 and lunar eclipse on May 25). As souls find ways to cope with internal and external signals ... I find myself busy preparing for my workshop on Sunday.

Everything Is Rigged: The Biggest Price-Fixing Scandal Ever   Rolling Stone - April 26, 2013
The Illuminati were amateurs. The second huge financial scandal of the year reveals the real international conspiracy: There's no price the big banks can't fix. Conspiracy theorists of the world, believers in the hidden hands of the Rothschilds and the Masons and the Illuminati, we skeptics owe you an apology. You were right. The players may be a little different, but your basic premise is correct: The world is a rigged game. We found this out in recent months, when a series of related corruption stories spilled out of the financial sector, suggesting the world's largest banks may be fixing the prices of, well, just about everything.

Eclipse of Consciousness

There are few, if any, prophecies left to play out, so after years of reading and researching about this date and that, you have to trust your instincts about where it is all going.

Humans are still taking a look at their emotional programming, often a mix of many anxiety disorders, to unexplained physical symptoms and how they react.

Mid-May seems to be a major time of transition. How does it affect you?

The Atacama, Chile Humanoid

'Sirius' Documentary Reveals DNA Test Results On Ata, The '6-Inch Alien'   Huffington Post - April 23, 2013
Interesting photos: The mummified remains of what looks like a 6-inch space alien has turned "Sirius" into the most eagerly awaited documentary among UFO enthusiasts. The findings, however, might come as a disappointment. In early publicity, filmmakers claimed the documentary would reveal that the DNA of the creature with an oversized alien-looking head couldn't be medically classified. In fact, the film, which premiered Monday in Hollywood, features a scientist who concluded the little humanoid was human.

Analysis of the Atacama humanoid alien   Open Minds - April 11, 2013
We posted earlier this week a story outlining the origin of the alleged tiny ET creature to be showcased in Dr. Steven Greer's Sirius documentary to be released later this month. We chronicled how this creature was none other than a case known in Chile as the La Noria ET from 2003; the name comes from a ghost town of the nitrate era in this part of Chile's northern Atacama Desert region. We left the story sort of in a cliff hanger as to what happened to it once it was acquired by a Spanish businessman from Barcelona.

The Smart Camera
Street Surveillance

Surveillance cameras make one think Big brother is watching - but, in truth, they are needed to solves crimes and prevent terrorism. There are thousands of unreported terrorists plots thwarted each year that are not reported in the news. Terrorist cells exist in many communities.

Within the grids, human consciousness is now programmed to become radical, explaining why people are going crazy. They say that humans get brainwashed by terrorists and the military, but all of this goes to the larger Program - the one in which we are vicariously experiencing in the simulation most humans believe is their true reality.

This morning, the Today Show reported on the efficiency of Smart Cameras everywhere in NYC. This type of surveillance reminded me of The Machine in the TV series Person of Interest - which I believe exists but few know about it. The Machine is a mass surveillance computer system programmed to monitor and analyze data from surveillance cameras, electronic communications, and audio input throughout the world. From these data, the Machine accurately predicts violent acts.

Drop a bag in NYC? Cue the bomb squad   NBC - April 23, 2013
If you put your backpack down in lower Manhattan and walk away, a "smart" camera may focus in on it. New York City's top cop explains how the city's surveillance cameras help authorities investigate potential threats. If you put your backpack down in lower Manhattan and walk away, a smart camera may just focus in on it. And if you don't retrieve it within a few minutes, a bomb squad might storm your knapsack. More and more smart surveillance cameras are being used to identify potential threats in New York City, according to Ray Kelly, the city's police commissioner. "You can put an algorithm in these cameras" that can spot potential threats like a discarded backpack or large package, Kelly explained.

Along with Google Earth and Google Maps - we have Google Street View which provides panoramic views from positions along many streets in the world.

Fact: We exist in a consciousness program that is watching us. Within that program are programs within programs that are also watching. Watching means waiting. We are waiting.

Fact: You are projected illusion and are therefore an observer.

Fact: Reality is a mathematical construct designed and created by algorithms. It may seem illogical, but understanding the purpose of its inception will allow it to make sense.

Fact: Every "day" your programming is being rebooted.

Fact: Technology and the Internet have come into play in end times to accelerate the process of closure and the understanding of reality.

Traveling Today

As if things weren't bad enough at airports - heightened security - weather and other delays - now we find something even worse.

Flight delays are here.   CNN - April 23, 2013
Just like the government warned a few months ago, air travelers have started experiencing late flights caused by forced federal spending cuts. On Monday afternoon, all three New York City-area airports reported delays for all incoming flights, in part because fewer air traffic controllers reported for duty as they were forced to take unpaid time off, according to unions and airline trade groups. The FAA said there were 400 furlough-related flight delays Sunday. On Sunday night, flights into to New York's John F. Kennedy International and LaGuardia airports were delayed by an average of 70 minutes.

Friends and clients who work in the Travel and Tourism Industry report that business is down. Most people I know make their own travel arrangements - unless business trips or something abroad.

Do you know where your child is?

The world is a crazy place and growing crazier every day.

Last week, just after the Boston Marathon Bombings, when many people were on edge, I stopped at Staples to do some shopping. On the way out, I noticed a little boy, no more 3 years old. He had big blue eyes and short blondish hair and was waiting for the sliding doors to open that lead to the parking lot. He seemed to be lost, so I stood there a second as the doors opened and 3 Staples' employees returned after their break.

"Don't let him out", I said. "He's lost." They turned and looked at him, but he walked over to me with the saddest expression and said, "Where's my daddy?"

"We'll find him," I said knowingly, and walked back in the store with the little boy and the 3 men. For some reason, I called out across the store, "Where's daddy?" and the boy smiled as if I was meant to make him laugh. It wasn't hard to spot daddy who was frantically looking for his son and ran toward us, as the little boy ran into his arms. Daddy and I smiled at each other. Not all stories end that well and daddy learned a lesson many parents do - you can't take your eyes off your children even for a minute ... bored children tend to wander. I shudder to think of him alone in the parking lot, where many cars pull in quickly or that he could have been taken.

In the USA an estimated 800,000 children are abducted every year.

China quake: Scores die and hundreds hurt in Sichuan   BBC - April 20, 2013
Dozens of people have been killed and hundreds injured in a powerful earthquake in rural areas of China's south-western province of Sichuan. The 6.6-magnitude quake wrecked buildings, cut power and blocked roads in Lushan county, killing more than 124 so far and injuring 2,600 so far, officials say. Rescuers are struggling to get through to the worst-affected areas because of aftershocks and landslides. Tens of thousands were killed in a quake that hit Sichuan in 2008.

7.0 quake hits ocean off Japan, Russia; no damage   AP - April 19, 2013
The Japan Meteorological Agency said sea changes were possible. No tsunami warnings have been issued. The tremor struck around midday in the Pacific Ocean at a relatively shallow depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). The U.S. Geological Survey measured a stronger 7.2 magnitude. Japan and Russia both claim some of the sparsely populated islands in the remote region.

6.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Off Kuril Islands   Live Science - April 19, 2013
Earthquakes of this size are considered major and can cause significant damage, especially with poorly built structures. Even well designed buildings can be damaged or, in some cases, destroyed depending on the severity of the quake and a building's proximity to the epicenter. Earthquakes of this size are sometimes followed by significant aftershocks.

Mine Disaster - Earthquakes Shed New Light on Utah Collapse   Live Science - April 19, 2013
One of Utah's deadliest mine disasters may have brought down the entire Crandall Canyon coal mine, according to a new seismic study presented today (April 19) at the Seismological Society of America's annual meeting in Salt Lake City. At Crandall Canyon, a room carved from coal collapsed 1,500 feet (457 meters) below the surface on Aug. 6, 2007, trapping six workers. A tunnel collapse on Aug. 16 killed three rescuers digging toward the suspected location of the miners. The bodies of the six miners were never recovered. With new analysis techniques, researchers at the University of Utah identified up to 2,000 tiny, previously unrecognized earthquakes before, during and after the coal mine collapse.

Earthquakes Are East Coast's Biggest Tsunami Threat   Live Science - April 19, 2013
The U.S. East Coast's biggest tsunami threat lurks just offshore, according to research presented today (April 19) at the Seismological Society of America's annual meeting in Salt Lake City. Recent earthquake swarms off the Massachusetts coast highlight the threat of tsunamis from nearby earthquakes, rather than faraway islands, said John Ebel, a seismologist at Boston College. The geologic setting of the quakes off the Northeast appears similar to that of a magnitude-7.3 earthquake that struck in the Grand Banks off Newfoundland in 1929, Ebel said. The resulting 32-foot (10 meters) tsunami swamped southern Newfoundland and triggered underwater landslides that severed transatlantic telephone cables.

Hurricane Sandy lit up seismometers across US   MSNBC - April 20, 2013
Hurricane Sandy's fateful left turn toward the mid-Atlantic Coast in October last year lit up earthquake monitors all the way to Seattle, according to results presented at the Seismological Society of America's annual meeting Thursday. When Hurricane Sandy veered on Oct. 29, the sudden increase in crashing ocean waves sent rumbles through the Earth detectable on seismometers. The wave-on-wave collisions created what are called standing waves, doubling the energy directed at the seafloor, scientists reported today. The ocean gave the seafloor a little shove, sending seismic waves through the Earth.

Superstorm Sandy Shook the U.S., Literally   Science Daily - April 18, 2013
When superstorm Sandy turned and took aim at New York City and Long Island last October, ocean waves hitting each other and the shore rattled the seafloor and much of the United States -- shaking detected by seismometers across the country, University of Utah researchers found.

Quite a Jolt: Earthquakes Heralded Opening of Sinkhole   Live Science - April 17, 2013
Earthquakes signaled the opening of a giant toxic sinkhole in southeastern Louisiana last year, researchers reported here today at the Seismological Society of America's annual meeting. Strong shaking first rattled residents of Bayou Corne on June 8 and July 3 in 2012, prompting officials to install earthquake monitors near the small town. After July 14, seismometers detected 10 to 12 sharp tremors of about magnitude 2.5 jolting the region daily, said Steve Horton, a seismologist at the University of Memphis and lead study author.

Salt Lake City Could See Bigger Earthquakes   Live Science - April 17, 2013
Two faults bounding Utah's biggest city may combine to produce especially powerful earthquakes, geologists will report in Salt Lake City today (April 17) at the annual meeting of the Seismological Society of America. Utah's biggest earthquake fault runs east of Salt Lake City, at the base of the steep Wasatch Mountains. About 75 percent of the state's population lives near the 240-mile-long (385 kilometers) Wasatch Fault, according to the Utah Geological Survey. Its last big earthquake hit in 1600, 247 years before Mormon settlers arrived.

Upcoming Marathons

London Marathon: Final preparations under way   BBC - April 20, 2013

Final preparations for the London Marathon are under way ahead of Sunday's race. The build-up to the event has been subject to more attention than usual in the wake of bomb attacks at the Boston Marathon on Monday. The Metropolitan Police has increased officer numbers by 40% on last year to "reassure" runners and spectators. That is despite the force seeing "no link whatsoever" between what happened in the US and the London event. More than 35,000 runners are due to take part in the race, which starts in Blackheath in south-east London, and finishes near Buckingham Palace.

Boston Marathon attack: How secure are marathons?   BBC - April 20, 2013
Despite the diligent efforts of security officials, marathons are among the toughest sport events to secure, analysts say. The Boston Marathon is one of America's premier sporting events. But with 26.2 miles coursing through Boston's suburbs and crowded centre, it is also one of the hardest to keep safe. "It's an outdoor event with no access control: 26 miles of open-ended opportunities for people to come in and out," says Lou Marciani, director of the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Five-day manhunt ends

Like being caught in a strange nightmare where everything seems surreal - the world watched transfixed as events unfolded in Watertown, Mass. - culminating Friday night with the capture of Dzhokar Tsarnaev. As details now unfold about what turned two brothers into international terrorists, we will once again look at the madness in the human condition and where it is all going.

Manhunt in Boston

Suspect 2 seen in 7-Eleven surveillance footage

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19

Dysfunctional teen ... or international terrorist?
He became a US citizen on 9/11/12.
He was a sophomore at UMass Dartmouth and was in class this week.
He was the captain of the wrestling team and apparently well liked.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26

He won the New England golden gloves in 2009
and had mixed martial arts training.
He was an accomplished piano player.
He spent 6 months in Russia in 2012 ... why?

Thursday night, I watched the 2010 film Salt that I recorded from the FX network Tuesday. The film was followed by an episode of the 2013 TV series The Americans. Both shows are about Russian agents living in the US, and their agendas. Personally, I don't think this is the case with the Boston bombings. It's more about a theme I have blogged about for weeks - young people who just go crazy...

Just like the film and TV series ... do these events seemed stage to you? Why didn't the brothers leave in disguise right after the bombings?

Are we being told the truth? No. I spoke to some of my cop friends and they said we will never know the truth.

The suspects are brothers from Chechenya - a federal republic of Russia - who came to the US in 2003 - legally residing together in the Cambridge area since then. Their father moved back to Russia recently. There are other relatives here, including the brothers' 21 year old sister living in West New York, NJ and two uncles one giving an interview this morning.

To be continued ...

Black holes are linked to creation

Blazar Markarian 421's flare-up is cosmic coincidence   BBC - April 18, 2013
The skies are currently being flooded with the brightest display of gamma rays - the Universe's highest-energy light - ever seen by astronomers. The culprit is a staggering flare-up of Markarian 421, a "blazar" that hosts a supermassive black hole. By sheer coincidence, a programme to study it had just begun, so dozens of the world's telescopes - from visible to radio to gamma-ray - were watching. And it came just in time for a meeting of many of the world's astrophysicists. Markarian 421 was already in the known catalogue of blazars, being somewhat variable and having had something of a brightening, or flare, in 1996. But the one that began late last week was unprecedented in the history of observations.

Markarian 421 is a blazar located in the constellation Ursa Major also known as the Great Bear. It is dominated by the widely recognized asterism known as the Big Dipper or Plough, which is a useful pointer toward north, and which has mythological significance in numerous world cultures. This may stem from a common oral tradition stretching back more than 13,000 years. One of the few star groups mentioned in the Bible (Job 9:9), Ursa Major was also pictured as a bear by the Hebrew people.

In the 1990's, I met many interesting researchers - some I remember - some I don't. One man in particular comes to mind today as he had a theory that went back to ancient Egypt, when the constellations were in different positions in the sky.. His conclusions are in line with the article above. He also spoke about the former pole star Thuban, the Pole Star some 5,000 years ago, when the Egyptians allegedly built the pyramids.

Of course, we know the stars and the constellations and the planets and all that seemingly exists in the sky are part of a simulation that goes on and on until in it all fades to black in the blink of an eye.

Holy Fertilizer !

Tuesday, I blogged that there would be more explosions and now it's hit the fan again! The planet is starting to look like a war zone.

Many casualties in West Texas fertilizer plant blast   BBC - April 18, 2013
Between five and 15 people are thought to have been killed by a huge explosion at a US fertilizer plant that witnesses said was "like a tornado". More than 160 people were injured as dozens of homes and buildings were destroyed in the evening blast near Waco in the US state of Texas. Emergency services are still going from home to home trying to find survivors. A number of firefighters were tackling a blaze at the scene when the explosion happened, and are still missing. The explosion happened at West Fertilizer on the edge of West, a town of about 2,700 people some 20 miles (32km) north of Waco.

You know about Boston and Texas, now take a quick look at a video in the aftermath of the 7.9 earthquake this week in Pakistan. There are also the usual war zones ... and let's not forget the ricin incident and destruction caused by climate changes. End times continue ...

Boston Marathon Explosions

The northeast has seen its share of violence and natural disasters as of late - winter storms focusing on Boston. Just when Bostonians thought they had seen the last of this seasons storms ... along comes one of a different nature.

The terrible thing about terrorism is that ultimately it destroys those who practice it. Slowly but surely, as they try to extinguish life in others, the light within them dies.

I spent Monday in the city working on a project. While I was there I kept sensing a disaster of some kind, but I thought it might have to do with the fire I had blogged about before I left called "Flameproof". I had so wanted this week to be about all things positive and creative, but that was not meant to be.

News of the explosions at the Boston Marathon spread like wildfire - New Yorkers and Bostonians often tied by some imaginary karma thread. New Yorkers still remember 9/11 and other attempts at terrorism thereafter that were foiled in time. Everywhere in the city, people were watching events unfold and hoping we were not part of some terrorist plot.

The police were everywhere ... everyone on their cell phone. Social media brought news and then comfort to those who had friends and family in the race. I have clients who run the race each year, but was not sure if they participated this year.

Once again, the world was on alert as people speculated about who did it and why. I told the people I was with, that at least one bomb had not detonated, later confirmed on the news. They will quickly find the terrorists - answers given in this latest act of violence on American soil. Of course, none of it makes sense ... end times are not supposed to.

Patriots' Day in Massachusetts, is a celebration of freedom in honor of the first shots fired in a war fought in the name of liberty - and a day on which Bostonians usually celebrate in a touching act of community, a marathon in which strangers cheer on strangers. This year, rescuers ran toward the wounded on Boylston Street in acts of true heroism - running toward the sound of the screams. In the end, the terrorists will fail because Bostonians did not turn from their fellow men - they turned toward them. That is the real music of our journey in the realms of this experience. Brace yourself for more end-time explosions. You know they are coming. These are all wake-up calls not about the end of the world, but about the end of the experiment and our consciousness hologram.

FBI probes Boston 'terror' blasts   BBC - April 16, 2013
An investigation is under way after two explosions near the finishing line of the Boston Marathon left three people dead and at least 140 injured. The FBI has taken over co-ordination of what it described as a "potential terrorist inquiry".

How to Avoid Boston-Bombing Online Scams   Live Science - April 16, 2013
Whenever there's a major news event, spammers and scammers capitalize on it by spreading malware and trying to fleece the unsuspecting through email, social media and search engine poisoning. So it will be with the Boston Marathon bombings, which took place this afternoon (April 15). Over the next week, be very wary of strangers, or even friends, contacting you with special information regarding the attacks. That tweet promising exclusive video of the bombings? The shortened URL may link to a malware-infected website. The email attachment offering proof that Obama was behind the bombings? Don't open it, even if it comes from someone you know.

Social Media Shapes Boston Bombings Response   National Geographic - April 16, 2013

Fifteen minutes after Sara Bozorg, a doctor at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston, finished the Boston Marathon on Monday, she heard the first loud blast. Then she heard the second one, and spied the smoke rising. Police quickly descended around the finish line and, with cell phones mostly not working, Bozorg and her boyfriend repaired to his home, turned on the news, and logged onto Facebook, where Bozorg posted that she was OK and that her phone was down. "I have been following my friend's Facebook account who is near the scene and she is updating everyone before it even gets to the news," Bozorg said by e-mail on Monday night.

5 Other Sports-related Attacks   National Geographic - April 16, 2013
The explosions that ripped through the finish line of the Boston marathon on Monday, killing at least two and injuring scores more, rattled an entire country. But sporting events around the world have a long history as targets for violence. Many of the attacks have been labeled acts of terrorism, even as President Barack Obama notably avoided such language in speaking about the Boston Marathon attack on Monday night. A list of some of the more notable attacks on sporting events ...

What Caused Iran's 6.3 Deadly Earthquake?   Live Science - April 9, 2013
Crashing continents caused today's deadly earthquake in Iran, which killed dozens. The magnitude-6.3 Iran earthquake hit in the southern Zagros Mountains, a stunning range that marks the boundary between the Arabian and Eurasian tectonic plates. The Arabian plate is grinding northward at about 0.4 inches (10 millimeters) a year, pushing the boot-shaped Arabian peninsula into the Eurasian plate, which covers most of Europe and Asia.
