Prisons

Plan to shut down Rikers Island revealed -- Rikers Island

I have clients who work there as well as a few who are inmates.

Everything changes and generally comes full circle.

If you can't deal with change you may be in an emotional prison.

Some people consider physical reality a prison.

Political Coverups

Reality TV? Cheap spy novel? Like watching a cold war movie, the Trump-Russia connection is unfolding day by day - coverup by coverup. Though I try to avoid these daily stories - sometimes you just can't. Take for example ... former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn who is willing to testify before federal and congressional investigators in their ongoing probe into Russian meddling in the US election if he is granted immunity. For now, investigators are unwilling to broker a deal until they are further along in their inquiry.

Then, there's the Devin Nunes coverup ... At least two White House Officials aided Nunes in getting Intel Reports. In case you didn't know ... Nunes has been criticized as being too close to the administration to conduct an effective independent investigation of Russia's meddling in the presidential election.

Further coverups involve Trump's son-in-law Jarod Kutchner's Russian connections, revelations of Russian-Trump connections in his tax returns, as a Trump Russia dossier key claim is verified. Is Trump doing business with Russia? Is Trump being manipulated and is too stupid to realize it or is he just an ego-centric emotionally disturbed man whose destiny has yet to be revealed?

World Backup Day

With so many things being in crisis, don't let your computer be a problem.

Always back up everything. I use time machine and an external hard drive.

Saving to disc has given way to better options such as the cloud.

Save as you go in case of a problem with your computer or server, a power outage ...

Speaking of computers we segue to

My Grandson Giovanni

There's a geek in every family most of whom go on to do amazing things. Take for example Giovanni, 16, finishing his Junior year in High School in AZ. and totally focused on what he wants for his future. Wednesday, he won a National Tech Honor Society Award. Giovanni spends half of his school day in his regular high school, has lunch, then he and 3 friends drive over to a special technical High School. Mainstream education is often not the way to go for many of today's students who hate it. Everything should be specialized. Giovanni's mom teaches gifted children and is trying to make a major difference in her school district.

At the Apple Store in
Staten Island today

At last the sun came out and spring was in the air as my friend Pat and I set out for Staten Island. After lunch we went to the Apple store in the mall where I checked out the iMacs. My current computer is now working perfectly again - after finding and deleting malware - so I'm not ready to update yet. I love my current set up so waiting until something goes wrong.

Pat told me about a Broadway lottery in case you want to try it for cheap tickets.

Healthcare

We live in seemingly senseless times programmed to struggle on to help and heal ourselves and others. Some of my most successful clients have made millions creating healthcare software. Others get gratification in holistic healing careers. As far back as the first insert - humans have been challenged to finding ways to heal - natural or otherwise. It's been a long struggle with many breakthroughs and yet we still come across as a week frail race searching for answers in the emotions and illusion of time.

As things come to closure in the experiment - did you notice that souls are suddenly dying at any age even if they are not sick? Sunday Nikki's friend's father, who was heathy, suddenly died of a heart attack. Tuesday she told me a co-worker's 17 year old daughter died of a heart attack on a spiritual journey to Cambodia. Wednesday my friend Shirley's neighbor died suddenly in the hall just outside her apartment. Shirley has a close friend named Andrea, 48, from Hungary, who had a stroke in January and now has returned home because Hungary has socialize medicine and she can receive better healthcare during her recovery.

This took me on a journey to find out more about socialized medicine and how equal healthcare for all citizens in a country is not an easy task. Socialized medicine is a term used to describe and discuss systems of universal health care: medical and hospital care for all at a nominal cost by means of government regulation of health care and subsidies derived from taxation. Because of historically negative associations with socialism in American culture, the term is usually used pejoratively in American political discourse. The term was first widely used in the United States by advocates of the American Medical Association in opposition to President Harry S. Truman's 1947 health-care initiative. Read more.

Universal health care, sometimes referred to as universal health coverage, universal coverage, or universal care, usually refers to a health care system which provides health care and financial protection to all citizens of a particular country. It is organized around providing a specified package of benefits to all members of a society with the end goal of providing financial risk protection, improved access to health services, and improved health outcomes. Universal health care is not one-size-fits-all and does not imply coverage for all people for everything. Universal health care can be determined by three critical dimensions: who is covered, what services are covered, and how much of the cost is covered. It is described by the World Health Organization as a situation where citizens can access health services without incurring financial hardship. As of 2009, 58 countries have legislation mandating universal health care and have actually reached 90% health insurance coverage and 90% skilled birth attendance. Read more

Bernie Sanders believes that the challenges facing the American healthcare system need to be addressed immediately - they are a matter of life and death. Healthcare is a human right and should be guaranteed to all Americans regardless of wealth or income. He prizes the health and wellness of individuals over corporate profits. Additionally, he supports future legislation to curb drug costs and tackle fraud in the industry. Altogether, universal healthcare serves as a strong foundation for his policy goals. Sudden Death Syndrome in Adults

Did you notice that souls are suddenly leaving the hologram at any age even if they are not sick? I see this pattern everywhere. .... No sooner did I post this when my daughter Nikki called to tell me about a friend's father who was healthy and suddenly died yesterday.

Sudden arrhythmic death syndrome (SADS), also known as sudden adult death syndrome, sudden unexpected/unexplained death syndrome (SUDS) or sudden unexpected/unexplained nocturnal death syndrome (SUNDS), is a sudden unexpected death of adolescents and adults, mainly during sleep. Sudden unexpected death syndrome is rare in most areas around the world. This syndrome occurs in populations that are culturally and genetically distinct and people who leave the population carry with them the vulnerability to sudden death during sleep. Read more

This Week in the Matrix

It's Monday and you're off to do whatever. You feel up to speed on issues of the day from politics to weather to local news. You have your well thought out opinions, just as I have mine. Let's see what this week brings as everything feels redundant so far, with the exception/diversion that 36 year old Jarod Kusher thinks he can fix a broken government where others have failed. Another Trump family member will learn the hard way. This week most people will pick a grievance and focus on it - or maybe come up with another way to heal something. I need a new "insert" from the matrix so will wait to see what manifests. It should be something far off in space that reflects closure. Hello ... is anybody there?

Friends and Online Stuff

It's not often a long lost friend comes back into my life. Meet Nina ... We both grew up in Brooklyn attending Brooklyn College, but as I was one year older, and graduated early, we never met. We went on to become teachers but in different schools so again we never met. We married and started our families about the same time. Nina had boys (2) and Ellie had girls (3) - just what we both wanted. Somewhere along the line Nina and I met through our husbands and we all became friends. I always thought she looked somewhat like me - the same height, build, hair, eye color, and complexion.

As life moves on ... and people get busy ... friendships change. I basically stayed friends with the women who lived in Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn while Nina and Sy moved to Fort Lauderdale. The years, or should I say decades, passed as our lives followed similar paths though never touching. All of the children grew up, finished college, married with families, and are professionals. One of Nina's sons became a doctor - the other a Hollywood producer/director - Jeremy Alter.

Segue - March 2017 ... Last week, my ex-husband Ralph, who is deceased, showed me Nina's face but never explained why. I decided to search for Nina on Facebook ... and there she was after all these years ... Ellie sending an email. Nina emailed back immediately telling me she had searched for me for years but not as Ellie Crystal (maiden name). She had only known me by my married name, Levine. (There are Ellie Levine's in NYC but younger than me.)

Yesterday, Nina and I had our first catch-up call. We discovered that around the time I decided to leave Ralph to pursue the next part of my journey, she left her husband, Sy. Ralph moved to Scottsdale and Sy to LA. Though Ralph passed 11 years ago, Sy is still alive and well and still selling insurance.

Nina's interests in the esoteric took her to astrology where she and a friend had a call-in radio show for years. She still teaches piano and ... well, you know what I do. She is not into the tech world at all and said she recently got her first smart phone. We didn't have time to talk about reality so I'm not sure about her thoughts on that subject. To be continued ....

With friends moving to Florida, I may have to visit again. My friend, Pat, just sold her design business and is moving May 1. John, the friend I sometimes vacation with, is selling his house in Tampa and considering the East Coast of Florida. Now we have Nina .... and most importantly ... George in Fort Lauderdale.

Speaking of George... He's coming to spend time with me at the end of May. Yeah! As my computer is five years old and freezing up from time to time, as of late, I decided that would be a perfect time to get a new computer as George has always helped me get all my tech stuff together. I'm on the fence about getting a 27 inch iMac (smaller than what I'm used to), or a Mac Mini, and using my old 30 inch monitor which is now starting to get black pixels. I know what you're thinking ... go new. Also Mac no longer makes a separate monitor which is needed for Mac Pro (too much computer for my current needs) and Mac Mini. Ok ... I think I'm going to go with the 27 inch iMac and pray that my current Mac Pro lasts two more months. What do you think, George? FYI -The next Mercury Retrograde is ... April 9 - May 3, 2017 so that's helpful.

Sunday

From the NY Times ... Landmark internet privacy protections are nearly certain to be dismantled. Within days, the House is expected to pass a measure that the Senate approved last week. It would allow internet service providers to track and share customers' browsing and app activity without obtaining their permission. Republican supporters of the legislation said the regulations, created during the final days of the Obama administration, were onerous and stifled innovation.

The GOP plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act collapsed as the House leaders pulled the legislation in the face of a revolt among Republicans. The decision exposed the civil war within the party and raised questions about the consequences on the Trump administration's aggressive agenda and next year's midterm elections. The president, in a telephone interview, argued that the situation would turn out in his favor. "The best thing that could happen is exactly what happened - watch," he said.

For a year, NY Times reporters have been following Syrian refugee families and the Canadians who have helped them resettle in Toronto. Now, in Month 13, the sponsors are trying to let go. The everyday Canadians who stepped up to help are stumbling, as are the Syrian families trying to go forward on their own. "The honeymoon is over," said one sponsor, a retired teacher. This is just what I blogged would happen. Cultural differences and emotional issues were destined to create problems.

This is a cycle. A wet winter has blanketed the ridges of the Sierra Nevada range with a remarkably thick snowpack, which is beyond welcome after years of drought. The snowmelt will trickle down to irrigate crops, fill glasses and help sustain life in an arid state. Our collection of maps and photographs lets you share in the relief.

The Moment of Truth

Trump card: White House plays its hand in health care battle   BBC - March 23, 2017

Can they resuscitate the bill? Not successfully. It would take time. Trump is trying to do too much too soon. Everything is a do-over. After House Republican leaders abruptly canceled a planned vote on the GOP health care bill Thursday afternoon, Office of Management and Budget director Mick Mulvaney made clear Thursday evening that President Trump is done negotiating on the hotly-debated health care bill and wants a vote on Friday. If the president doesn't get a vote to repeal and replace Obamacare, he will move on to other priorities, Mulvaney said, according to a source in the room during tense talks with GOP members. The ultimatum came after Speaker Paul Ryan postponed the initial vote for the measure. The uncertainty over the bill's prospects leaves the president, who prides himself on his ability to "close the deal", facing a rare instance of self-doubt.

Once in place additional inserts a-rose in Europe, the Americas, Antarctica, and polar regions. Holographic closure follows the same sequential order. Is Consciousness Real? It's all Optics

Holographic Theory: 2D images -> 3D holograms of experience

Brain: Processes 2D images -> experience 3D realities

Is Consciousness Real?   Scientific American - March 22, 2017
Philosopher Daniel Dennett tries, once again, to explain away consciousness. Of all the odd notions to emerge from debates over consciousness, the oddest is that it doesn't exist, at least not in the way we think it does. It is an illusion, like Santa Claus or American democracy. Descartes said consciousness is the one undeniable fact of our existence, and I find it hard to disagree. I'm conscious right now, as I type this sentence, and you are presumably conscious as you read it. (I can't be sure about you, because I have access only to my own consciousness.) The idea that consciousness isn't real has always struck me as crazy, and not in a good way, but smart people espouse it. One of the smartest is philosopher Daniel Dennett, who has been questioning consciousness for decades. Dennett is just reiterating, in his oh-so-clever, neologorrheic fashion, what mind-scientists and most educated lay folk have long accepted, that the bulk of cognition happens beneath the surface of awareness.

Harris was also a songwriter, who wrote the hit "Palisades Park" for Freddy Cannon and the author of Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, his autobiography, which became a film directed by George Clooney.

Novel Ideas

With everything going on in, and connected to, Washington DC, anybody with a good sense of imagination and some writing skills could write a novel. With some research, you're good to go. The Trump administration is bringing new subject matter paralleling changing times in the age of technology - cyber-crimes and warfare - uncovering conspiracies.

In the latest dramas out of Washington this week -- The United States is giving nine airlines until Saturday morning to make sure that passengers on flights from 10 overseas airports - in eight predominantly Muslim countries - have been barred from carrying electronic devices larger than a cellphone. A senior Trump administration official said the airlines are being given 96 hours to fully implement the rules, starting today, because 'evaluated intelligence indicates that terror groups continue to target aviation, to include smuggling explosives in electronic devices.'

On the first day of his Supreme Court confirmation hearing, Judge Neil Gorsuch presented himself on Monday as a man of consensus, insisting that he favored no party above the law. The optics of his wife hugging him before hearings started - probably helped. I thought of it as something Olivia would do on the TV show Scandal.

The bill to replace the Affordable Care Act is scheduled for a vote on Thursday. House leaders have made some last-minute changes to the legislation to try to ensure it passes. No Democrats have said they will vote for the measure. Matter what happens many people will not like the results. There is no perfect solution unless the government pays for medical and that would raise taxes etc. etc. etc.

Ivanka Trump put her husband's relatives in charge of her company's assets, but she retains some power, an arrangement that is meant to address concerns about her role at the White House. Does anybody believe these people are not involved in "family business"? Not that it comes as a surprise but Ivanka will have an office just above her father's in the White House.

Remembering Chuck Berry

In my generation, we all listened and danced to Chuck Berry. We danced in school, at Paramount Theater concerts in Brooklyn and Manhattan, at parties, at home, and for me ... on TV. We danced ... we laughed ... we sang ...we had fun. I remember watching Chuck Berry on our first black and white TV. What I liked most about him was his upbeat music and disposition. His lyrics would repeat in your mind hours and days after listening to them on a vinyl record. Much of today's music, as with film and poetry, is expected to connect with pain and suffering - the patterns (algorithm) of abuse, healing, and overcoming obstacles. Sometimes music should just be fun and make you feel good ... or have we forgotten what that's like?

Chuck Berry (October 18, 1926 - March 18, 2017)

Chuck Berry was an award winning American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. He was among the first musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on its opening in 1986; he was cited for having "laid the groundwork for not only a rock and roll sound but a rock and roll stance." Berry is included in several of Rolling Stone magazine's "greatest of all time" lists; he was ranked fifth on its 2004 list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll includes three of Berry's: "Johnny B. Goode", "Maybellene", and "Rock and Roll Music".

Autism

In the Autism Spectrum, the numbers are much higher than reported. Adults with high functioning autism are often unaware that they are affected some seeing it as OCD or Aspergers, as the patterns overlap. I've met adults who display autistic patterns and struggle to figure out the nature of emotions often having issues with relationships and physical intimacy. Careers often include working with numbers and computers. In the healing worlds, many work with others helping them bring up and process emotional baggage from their past, as the healer explores and examines the emotions experienced by the person they are working on. This overlaps into empathy and degrees of assimilation. It's all about the brain as a computer and its programmed experiences in the hologram of our reality. The 2016 film "The Accountant" brings additional insights.
