Trump in Israel

It's 7:00 AM EDT as Trump's arrival in Israel plays in the background while inserting video clips and commentary from his speech yesterday in Saudi Arabia. Trump is hoping to seal the ultimate deal to bring stability, security and peace to the Middle East, and defeat terrorism. Not so easily done as his words change from moment to moment and that is not our programmed experience. I suppose in his heart he would love to be the one to achieve what those before him could not, but the world is simply not ready for compromise especially from such an unpopular American leader. As you known Trump is all about optics and the theater of politics.

Polite formalities continue ...

Trump's two-day visit in Israel will include separate meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. Earlier, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told reporters that Trump feels like there's a moment in time here to advance peace talks between Israelis and Palestinians. With unprecedented security for his massive entourage, Trump will also go to landmarks like the Holocaust Memorial Yad Vashem, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and be the first sitting president to visit the Western Wall.

After running a decidedly pro-Israel campaign and taping three Orthodox Jews to top positions, Trump's visit to Israel should have been one of the easiest stops on his first overseas trip. But as the new president is learning, nothing is easy and he doesn't really call the shots. From the White House choice of words over the location of the Western Wall to uncertainty over whether or not the U.S. will move its embassy, there are many diplomatic landmines Trump will have to navigate in the Holy Land.

Back at home ... dramas heat up as late night talk show hosts create story lines and monologues.

Back Stories

If you are holding onto personal information from your past that triggers negative emotional responses and blocks your clarity, remember that the brain is a computer and it's time to "clear your memory". The past, in streaming consciousness, is just another grid you observed and "jumped" into for experience.

Back story today from the New York Times

On this day in 1849, an Illinois lawyer named Abraham Lincoln was issued a patent for a flotation system to lift riverboats stuck on sandbars. According to the National Museum of American History, Lincoln started boating as a teenager, along the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. His device was never built, but a model of it that he had made is now housed in the museum.

Lincoln remains the only U.S. patent holder to have occupied the presidency. That made us wonder: Which other presidents held unusual titles?

In an 1862 obituary, The Times called John Tyler "the most unpopular public man that had ever held any office" in the U.S. But the presidential historian Robert Dallek isn't sure Tyler could claim that distinction: "There are plenty of rivals," he said.

At least two presidents had Native American honors: Calvin Coolidge, or "Chief Leading Eagle," was made a member of the Sioux in 1927, and Barack Obama was 'adopted' by the Crow Nation.

Grover Cleveland acted as the hangman at an execution while serving as a county sheriff.

Herbert Hoover was a mining engineer.

Lyndon B. Johnson taught elementary school.

Donald Trump: You fill in what you think he'll be remembered for. Hey ... watch your language ... remember your "Mother" board is watching.

Ellie's Gazebo Adventures in Brooklyn

Today, I returned to the Gazebo in Cannonball Park, across the street, with a client/friend named Joe after we finished his reading. There, we discovered an interesting painted wooden object which looked liked chakras to Joe and balanced stones to me. We don't know were it came from, but interesting things are often left there. George and I once hung a clear quartz crystal from the top a few days before I did a crystal workshop in the park.

Surreal

I usually find interesting science articles to report but last week that was not the case as focus remained on the adventures of President Trump here and abroad. Most of what was reported in the science journals was redundant. There's always another dinosaur story, another exoplanet, healing and awareness, and pretty much the types of stories we've read in recent years. We go with the flow which is rapidly becoming a tsunami. A storm is coming ... or is it already here.

Trump was able to get away, at least physically, from a cascade of developments in Washington that have made a tumultuous political landscape even more turbulent. The first stop on his nine-day trip was Saudi Arabia, where he received a gold medal from the king - talk about bling! Jared Kushner helped negotiate a $110 billion weapons deal with the Saudis beforehand. Critics worry that his diplomatic interests and his family's interests may become entangled which is also redundant. The president will continue on to Israel, Italy and Belgium though I'm sure the main focus of conversation is events back home.

From the Saudi Kingdom to Trump who would be King ... this experience seems surreal ... maybe that's the point.

Saving the best for last

In our crazy topsy-turvy reality   'SNL' finale had Baldwin's Trump singing and 'The Rock' running for POTUS -... and then there's Tom Hanks. Though not a fan of SNL, the finale was worth watching. Check out the video clips ... then stay tuned for the late night hosts on Monday as the humor continues. Last week Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) talked about running for president with Jimmy Fallon. What do I love about Dwayne? It's his upbeat personality and sense of humor.

From CNN: "Saturday Night Live" has come full circle. They brought back Alec Baldwin's President Donald Trump as well as many of the characters from his White House to open its season finale Saturday night. The NBC variety show referenced itself by having Baldwin's Trump, as well as Kate McKinnon's Kellyanne Conway, Scarlett Johansson's Ivanka Trump and others in the administration sing Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" at a piano to open the show. This was reminiscent of how the show opened its first post-election episode with McKinnon as Hillary Clinton playing the song at the piano. "I'm not giving up," Baldwin's Trump said, echoing McKinnon's words from November. "Because I didn't do anything wrong."

'Trump, servant of God': How Saudis are viewing his visit   BBC - May 21, 2017

In stark contrast to the upbeat statements of Saudi officials concerning US President Donald Trump's visit to the kingdom on May20, many Arab Twitter users have taken a more skeptical view of the trip. At one point on Saturday, though, the term "Trump's daughter" in Arabic was the top-trending topic worldwide on Twitter. Many have taken to satire, posting images referencing negative comments by Mr Trump about Islam and Muslims. Their reaction comes ahead of his much-anticipated speech at the Arab Islamic American Summit in Riyadh on Sunday.

Friday

Insanity: Craziness prevailed yesterday here in the city as a man plowed down 23 people, with one fatality, at Times Square setting the scene for terror and panic. Heat and humidity could have added to his behavior, though he seems he be another mentally ill, drug addicted young man who went postal. His behavior could be a result of viewing vehicle terrorist attacks on TV. Death also found Roger Ailes of Fox News fame and musician Chris Cornell who helped forge a form of rock that used all its power to question rather than to exult.

Finales: As my favorite TV shows come to season finales - there was a sweet mix of emotions setting the next for the fall season. Thursday night The Blacklist and Scandal as always had brilliant writing and performances - each series airing two episodes back to back. I looked ahead at the summer schedule finding little of interest. It's all about Reality - not my thing

Politics: On the political front, you are probably up to date on local chaos, as we follow Trump abroad when he sets off today on his first trip overseas since taking office. First stop ...Saudi Arabia, which is negotiating a $100 billion arms deal with the U.S. Foreign leaders are sharing tips on meeting with Trump, including keeping their conversations brief because Trump has a short attention span. Yes, indeed ... we live in crazy times.

Royal wedding: For those of us who enjoyed Princess Kate's wedding ... On Saturday, Britain will have its closest thing to a royal wedding this year (barring any surprises from Prince Harry), when Pippa Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister, marries.

142nd Preakness: I'm going with Always Dreaming again but Senior Investment looks like a good choice to place.

Russian-American Relations

Investigation into the relationship between President Trump and Vladimir Putin continues to highlight the news.

On a sunny spring day, Pat and I drove to Brighton Beach to walk on the Boardwalk starting at Bay 1. The boardwalk actually runs all the way to Coney Island. This was the first time I had returned here since Hurricane Sandy destroyed the boardwalk on October 29. 2012.

I also wanted to take a few pics and videos for my classmates reunion in Florida next month.

Suddenly, out of the blue, a Russian man around my age, sporting a gold tooth,

dressed only in a black Speedo and sneakers, ran over and hugged me. Not exactly my type, but funny.

As his friend, the man on the right, walked past Pat, he said, "Save this picture. It will be valuable one day."

Pat laughed and thought: "Yeah ... When we see him arrested, as we sensed he was connected."

On this day Russian-American relations were in tact in Brighton Beach by the sea where my classmates and I grew up ...
while out in the world other things were brewing.

James Comey

On the matter of Trump vs. Comey ... I believe Comey.

Comey believes Comey.

Trump probably believes Trump.

Comey helped take Hillary down.

Now he's going to help take Trump down.

What truths will surface that we have been
waiting to hear from this 6' 8" giant??

The Giants in mythology were the Anunnaki
taking us full circle to the Middle East, creation, and today.

Antikythera Mechanism

What is the Antikythera Mechanism? No one is certain after 115 years of research. Is it just "busy work" planted by the simulation we believe is our reality, or was it a functional tool whose creators are just as ambiguous as our creation myths? I've heard theories that link this computer-like object to Ancient Aliens or perhaps mythological Atlantis. The story of Atlantis comes to us from Timaeus, a Socratic dialogue, written in about 360 B.C. by Plato and not an historical treatise.

Antikythera Anniversary: Astronomical Computer Still Puzzles After 115 Years   Live Science - May 18, 2017
What looked like a hunk of corroded metal lying at the bottom of the Aegean Sea near the Greek island of Antikythera turned out to be a piece of a mysterious astronomical calculator. That was 115 years ago, on May 17, 1902, when archaeologist Valerios Stais discovered the bronze bit among other artifacts discovered on the Roman cargo ship called the Antikythera shipwreck. Today's Google Doodle celebrates that discovery with an illustration showing the biggest part of the Antikythera mechanism, which looks like a gear or wheel. Dating to about 85 B.C., or even earlier, the shoebox-size computer is intricate, with dials on the outside and 30 bronze gear wheels inside. Long ago, Greeks could have turned a hand crank on the device to reveal everything from the positions of the sun and the moon and the lunar phases to the cycles of the Greek Olympics.

Going up or falling down?

Once again we arrive at May's "Rating Sweeps Week" as TV series air season finales replete with cliffhangers. The biggest cliffhanger this month comes from the White House keeping the world engaged in something we hope will one day be called "The Final Days of The Trump Administration" or "the End of Time". Daily events from the White House script our lives often shifting our decisions.

To follow events or not, what has become self evident is we do not script, direct, or produce events at this level of consciousness. Further, there is no mythological god calling the shots. It is all streaming consciousness for your experience and review. We are an interactive audience caught up in a virtual experience/experiment - the cliffhanger about to show itself. The endless season finales of reality have recycled in the loops of time ... until now. Something should feel different to you this time around. Can you figure out the algorithm and where we are going? This is the Cliffhanger for everything your soul came here to experience.

Tuesday

I've finally come out of the closet ... spending the past hour putting winter clothes away and preparing for the summer. Spring? Maybe today but going to pass us by this year. Monday, it was so cold and windy I had to go back to get my puffer jacket. Everyone is talking about extreme weather, my cousin Doug happy to be out of here before the heat wave that's coming followed by cooler temps.

And now to see what's going on in the world ... Why am I not surprised Trump shared classified information with the Russians. Two cabals seem to behind all of this - one seeking to keep Trump in office - one trying to get him out without. They call the shots and the world reacts.

Monday Memos

Coming off a great weekend, it's hard to get back to politics and the endless other things wrong with the world. Many bloggers love to vent about whatever ... but not me. I'm more of a Comedy Queen than a Drama Queen. Yet here I am checking in with the news I left behind Sunday morning. I surprised myself last night by deleting "Meet the Press' without watching it. Oh dear ... Shall I check for a fever? Nope. Actually I had my annual check-ups last week and so far at 74 no issues anywhere. No meds. Just a time released Vitamin C to get me through the day.

Going over to Ezine to update the news... You know Trump will dominate the news again this week. Diversion? Conspiracy? It can't be worse than last week ... or can it? Oy vey...

Should the caption from this CNN pic this morning read:
"Bye Bye Donny. You hung yourself"?

Then there's cyber-attacks from WannaCry ransomware.
Does all of this make you "wanna cry"?

Mother's Day With The Crystals

On Mother's Day, we might remember that not long ago our mothers, and those before them, were immigrants who arrived on these shores for a better life.

Today, as I drove through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to meet my cousin Doug in the city, I felt surrounded by the voices of ancient ancestors from my Crystal bloodline. Best of all, I saw my grandmother Beila Crystal with her husband and 10 children, including my father. I sent her the message, "Happy Mother's Day" and I could feel their love returned. Could I share this encounter with my cousin Doug? Doubtful, but I would try.

The trip through the tunnel took a while due to repairs. At last, I exited but what was that Bright Light?! No ...no.. not that one. It was the sun after days of rain.

As I drove past the new World Trade Center, I remembered that it was my deceased Crystal relatives who met me in the cemetery in Staten Island after Aunt Rose died at age 98, and warned me three days before 9/11 that there were going be many deaths as they pointed to Ground Zero. Did they come to share something foreboding again? Nope. Just saying hello. Whew ... Hi, daddy. You were the best. Miss you. (He looked a lot like Doug).

I met Doug, visiting here from Los Angeles, who shared pictures and stories about his life and family. As we gazed at each other we could see a resemblance to my father and other Crystals. We met through "23 and Me". Doug's Mom, Cecelia, and my dad, Murray, were siblings.

Okay ... I couldn't help myself as I mentioned the Crystal connection I made driving through the tunnel. Was Doug spooked by what I said? No, but like most men my age he said he was not a believer. [Okay Ellie ...stick to 3D stuff but no politics which thankfully never came up.]

One red rose from the hostess at the restaurant ... or maybe from someone not in this reality

Lunch was great during which we used my iPad to locate a local art gallery ... which unfortunately was closed. On we walked to Chelsea Piers ... darting between cars, people on bicycles, and on rollerblades on the West Side Highway. I remembering Doug saying, "Watch out!" on more than one occasion.

I'm seeing my daughters in two weeks. They got me plane tickets to Florida for a High School/College reunion with classmates I reconnected with on Facebook. More later ...

Who do you believe?
Trump?   Comey?    Nobody?

Comey or Comedy if this were Ancient Greece?

Behold our modern day gladiators. Thumbs (Trumps) up? Thumbs (Trumps) down?...

The storms coming to the city tomorrow are said to be like a nor'easter but they're nothing compared to what's going on in the White House. I watched Lester Holt's interview with Donald Trump yesterday afternoon. Not impressed. While insisting there was no collusion between his campaign and the Russians and supports a full investigation into alleged Russian meddling in last year's presidential election. What else did you expect him to say. Trump also told Leste that the former FBI director requested dinner to retain his job. But at least one current and one former FBI official close to Comey dispute that account. "The president is not correct," the former official said. "The White House called him out of the blue. Comey didn't want to do it." But in the end, "He's still the commander in chief. He's your boss. How do you say no?"
