The Mysteries of the
Mona Lisa

Leonardo Da Vinci was an Italian Renaissance polymath: painter, sculptor, architect, musician, scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, and writer. He is considered one of the most brilliant minds the world has ever known. As a man (Amun) of many mysteries Da Vinci often encoded them into his work. The name Mona Lisa is actually an anagram for "Amon L'Isa", referring to the father and mother gods of Ancient Egyptian religion (namely Amun and Isis). Ah ... we are back to Isis.

The Mona Lisa has always had an air of mystery about it - some believing it contains encoded messages. Art historians probe a real life Da Vinci Code style mystery after discovering tiny numbers and letters painted into the eyes of the artist's enigmatic Mona Lisa painting.

According to the novel "The Da Vinci Code" the secrets of the Grail are connected to the Mona Lisa and known by Da Vinci encoding them not many of his works of art including The Last Supper, in which no actual chalice is present at the table and the figure seated next to Christ is apparently not a man, but a woman, his wife Mary Magdalene. Most reproductions of the work are from a later alteration that obscured her obvious female characteristics. The androgyny of the Mona Lisa reflects the sacred union of male and female implied in the holy union of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. Such parity between the cosmic forces of masculine and feminine has long been a deep threat to the established power of the Church.

Hidden portrait 'found under Mona Lisa   BBC - December 8, 2015

An image of a portrait underneath the Mona Lisa has been found beneath the existing painting using reflective light technology, according to a French scientist. Pascal Cotte said he has spent more than 10 years using the technology to analyze the painting. He claims the earlier portrait lies hidden underneath the surface of Leonardo's most celebrated artwork. A reconstruction shows another image of a sitter looking off to the side. The Louvre Museum has declined to comment on his claims because it "was not part of the scientific team".

It is so true that the more a person is suited for art,

the more they are disheartened
by the craft aspect of their work.

But all art is craft, something that has to be

learned with difficulty, and that is where the greatness of art lies.

His large wall works in fresco helped establish the

I did not know it then, but Frida had already become the most important fact
in my life. And would continue to be, up to the moment she died, 27 years later.
