Things To Love About
Turning 40

October 2014

Many people remember their 40th birthday - sometimes called "The Big 4-0". It's often a time of transition which highlights at age 44 in something called Saturn opposition. In the old days it was called midlife crisis. Today most people are not old at 40 but reinventing themselves. Each decade brings transition and change - but 40 is major. I loved everything about turning 40 ... the year the doors opened and I walked into the wonderful world in which I now work and create. Ellie's Bio

Ellie's Office
Therapists' Spaces

I'm a therapist with a Masters in Psychology who decided years ago to work as a Psychic instead - though always combining the two fields. Six stories up, my work area features a view that combines the 4 elements creating an atmosphere that most clients comment on as peaceful and inviting. It's a wonderful way to spend an hour and glimpse into your life in this reality and beyond. Clients sit on the chair in front of the breakfront thus giving them a view of the Atlantic Ocean, the Verrazano Bridge, the park (nature), and more. I couldn't imagine working anywhere else. Everything is light and open and attracts the endless spirits that visit during a session. It is indeed fun time in Brooklyn and always recorded as all sessions should be - as spirits make sounds that recorders pick up - from music to laughter to whatever clients hear as they listen back to the session. Clutter and dark space don't work. My skylights do.

Photos: An Intimate Peek Into The Offices Of New York's Many Therapists   Huffington Post - October 19, 2014
It didn't take long before psychiatrist Sebastian Zimmerman noticed a paradox within his particular profession. Although he worked with a wide variety of people, in theory, so much of his day was spent in isolation, holed up in his own office away from the world. This strange realization came to be the motivation behind Zimmerman's interest in photography, a vehicle through which he could access the spaces outside of the therapist's room.

In his series, "Fifty Shrinks," Zimmerman captures New York's therapists, ranging in age, orientation and therapeutic perspective, in their places of work. Some adorn their professional homes with artwork, books and tchotchkes, while others prefer a minimalist aesthetic. Some offices mimic a cozy home while others feel more like scientific laboratories. In total, the images give a rare comprehensive look at the world of urban therapy. One aspect of the office jumps out immediately in Zimmerman's photos. While other medical or professional rooms have a list of technological devices at the ready -- an examination table or a laptop - therapists require little more than two places on which to sit. In fact, the uncanny workplaces are often designed to mirror the psychological philosophies of their owners, as spaces of transformation somewhat in line with the ideas they communicate. To make matters even more intriguing, most therapist offices are off limits to all those excluding patients, leaving their general appearance shrouded in mystery. "These rooms are detached," Zimmerman writes in a statement, "floating vessels, places of sanctuary and protection, healing and reconciliation." "What is the therapist considering when first setting up a work place?" he asks further. "How does his or her personal preference and theoretical orientation manifest in the furnishing and decoration of this physical and psychic environment?"

Weight Loss

I was always told that rapid weight loss leads to rapid weight regain of those unnecessary pounds .... wrong!

Is Rapid Weight More Or Less Likely to Stick?   Epoch Times - October 19, 2014
Losing weight gradually doesn't change the amount or rate of weight regained, compared with more rapid weight loss, say researchers. The study also finds that substantial weight loss is more likely if undertaken rapidly. However, our results show that an obese person is more likely to achieve a weight loss target of 12.5 percent weight loss, and less likely to drop out of their weight loss program, if losing weight is done quickly. The researchers found that the initial rate of weight loss did not affect the amount or rate of weight regain. After three years, participants in both diet groups who completed both phases of the study (about 71 percent) regained similar amounts of weight.

The Business of Bullying

In case you haven't figured it out - bullying starts in childhood usually by children who are abused at home. It's the old mental illness genetic factor where those abused by mentally ill family members grow up and become abusers. Bullying usually goes with anger, frustration, and rage disorder. Sometimes bullies at work are referred to as micro-managers. They prey upon the weak and those with low self-esteem. This is another really sad/bad subroutine of the hologram to create negative emotions.

What to Do When You Work With a Bully   Epoch Times - October 19, 2014
Approximately 54 million workers, or 35 percent of employees in the United States, report being the target of a bully at some point in their career, according to a new report. No one expects to go to work and feel as though they are back on the school playground, but bullying is all too common for many workers. And much of the bullying goes unreported.

Comet Siding Spring's Close Encounter With Mars Draws Near   Epoch Times - October 19, 2014
Astronomers world-wide are gearing up for what NASA calls a "once in a lifetime" event: the Comet Siding Spring will swing past Mars on its maiden voyage through the solar system thanks to a fleet of spacecraft and rovers on and around the Red Planet, we'll have a front row view.

One of the Year's Best Meteor Showers, Thanks to Halley's Comet   Epoch Times - October 19, 2014
As Earth orbits the sun, it continually ploughs through dust and debris left behind by passing comets and asteroids. On any night of the year, a keen-eyed observer might see five, or even ten, meteors (shooting stars) per hour. But over the next week, that number will rise markedly, as Earth moves through the centre of a stream of debris left behind by the most famous of all comets, comet 1P/Halley. Most meteor showers have a short, sharp maximum that is best observed over a single night or two. But the Orionid meteors (which have already been active for a couple of weeks) will really kick into action this weekend, and should remain close to their peak for most of next week. Best viewing is likely on or around Tuesday evening, October 21.

There's nothing I like better than a blog about education that makes a valid point. I've been an educator since I was 20 years old and have always felt that academic systems do not evolve as quickly as society and the minds of the students. From middle school up - children should be shown how education and their future will work hand-in-hand so that they can make a difference even at their age. If someone is programmed to be interested in something, they get smart at it either by personal experience, text, or visual learning. We only focus on subjects that connect to our personal grids. The rest is generally, though not always, a waste of time. From what I remember in the public school systems of New York City, there were never enough supplies, nor enough specialized teachers, for the ever changing developmental and emotional issues of the students. Not only are children being trained for a world that doesn't exist - they are not being prepared for one with an uncertain future.

American Schools Are Training Kids for a World That Doesn't Exist   Wired - October 18, 2014
Are Americans getting dumber? Our math skills are falling. Our reading skills are weakening. Our children have become less literate than children in many developed countries. But the crisis in American education may be more than a matter of sliding rankings on world educational performance scales. Our kids learn within a system of education devised for a world that increasingly does not exist.

To become a chef, a lawyer, a philosopher or an engineer, has always been a matter of learning what these professionals do, how and why they do it, and some set of general facts that more or less describe our societies and our selves. We pass from kindergarten through twelfth grade, from high school to college, from college to graduate and professional schools, ending our education at some predetermined stage to become the chef, or the engineer, equipped with a fair understanding of what being a chef, or an engineer, actually is and will be for a long time. We learn, and after this we do. We go to school and then we go to work. This approach does not map very well to personal and professional success in America today. Learning and doing have become inseparable in the face of conditions that invite us to discover.

Comet Siding Spring

C/2013 A1 (Siding Spring) is an Oort cloud comet discovered on 3 January 2013 by Robert H. McNaught at Siding Spring Observatory using the 0.5-meter (20 in) Uppsala Southern Schmidt Telescope. It will pass the planet Mars very closely on Sunday October 19, 2014. After its discovery, there was initially even the chance of a collision with Mars, but this possibility was excluded when the orbit was subsequently determined better.

Messier 6 and Comet Siding Spring   - October 17, 2014
The greenish coma and tail of Comet Siding Spring (C/2013 A1) are really 2,000 light-years or so away from the stars of open cluster Messier 6. They do appear close together though, along the same line-of-sight in this gorgeous October 9th skyscape toward the constellation Scorpius. Still, on Sunday, October 19th this comet really will be involved in a near miss, passing within only 139,500 kilometers of planet Mars. That's about 10 times closer than any known comet flyby of planet Earth, and nearly one third the Earth-Moon distance. While an impact with the nucleus is not a threat the comet's dust, moving with a speed of about 56 kilometers per second relative to the Red Planet, and outskirts of its gaseous coma could interact with the thin Martian atmosphere. Of course, the comet's close encounter will be followed intently by spacecraft in Martian orbit and rovers on the surface.

Essential Oils

When I visited Egypt in December 2000, a healer gave me a small sealed bottle of essential oils (left) and a bottle of gold nuggets in water (right). I've never opened either bottle but enjoy looking at them. I'm not much into alternative healing - as we heal when programmed to if ever - but have briefly studied and posted many of the endless modalities, among them Aromatherapy. Today in the news we find an article about essential oils and their uses.

How to Use Essential Oils Properly and Conditions They Can Remedy   Epoch Times - October 17, 2014

Essential oils are a unique branch of herbal medicine that utilizes the medicinal properties found in the essential oils of various plants. Through the different processes of distillation, the volatile constituents of the plant's oil are extracted from its flowers, leaves, branches, or roots. The oils then exert much of their therapeutic effect through their pharmacological properties and small molecular size making it very easy to penetrate bodily tissues, and help remedy many conditions.

Obesity and Depression

This is the way the pattern works. Depression causes autoimmune diseases and/or accidents that leave people with physical problems. This causes a pattern of emotional eating, lack of exercise, and in general weight gain. It all stems from one's programming for clinical depression. Everything comes from one's DNA codes for experience.

Obesity and depression often twin ills, study finds   PhysOrg - October 16, 2014
Depression and obesity tend to go hand in hand, U.S. health officials reported today. The combination was so common that 43 percent of depressed adults were also obese, according to the report. That association was even more prevalent among those taking antidepressants: 55 percent of those patients were also obese.

Ebola

Ebola is not only the story of the week, but the story of the month, the year, and the century so far. It's creating global fear as it spreads into different countries changing the way many people live their lives and the decisions they will make about travel. It's all happening in Mercury Retrograde, so it's far from over - repetitions and delays.

If ebola can create such chaos, imagine what a major natural disaster will do? Economies will crash along with the tectonic plates.

Leaving a Relationship

Leaving a relationship, especially a long term one, is not easy. It takes thought, planning, and consideration of the people involved and repercussions to their lives. People leave for many reasons - usually it's because their programming for that relationship is over and they need to reinvent themselves. Have you ever left a relationship to move on? We tend to look at the end of one relationship and the move into something new as a good thing even if scary, but you never know. Life is a roadmap we follow day by day, experience by experience, and hope for the best along the way. There's no easy way to leave and change the patterns of those involved, but people do it every day.

Art as Therapy

Channeling Art

Children like to color as a means of self-expression and relaxation. As adults, art, in its various forms, often becomes therapy. What one creates, is an outer expression of their inner emotions and brain chemistry. This includes digital art.

The expression "Coloring Inside the Lines" refers to someone who never takes risks, someone who always plays it safe. If you were coloring a page now, would you stay inside the lines?

Weather Mojo

From my Facebook Tuesday ...

Around 1:30 pm I posted: I'm filing a formal compliant about the weather to whomever ... It's 74 sticky degrees in Brooklyn with the humidity also at 74%. I am not a hot weather person. :(

Around 2:30 I posted: One hour later ... I guess I'm still connected in "high places". After getting my mail I walked across to the park and met a soldier from Fort Hamilton down the block. He took a pic of me in the suddenly cooler weather - my obelisk in the background. We laughed as I asked for wind and it started to blow up. Yup! My weather mojo is still working!!

Mind Control

Monday night on The Blacklist - a topic I rarely blog about came into focus - Mind Control and Secret Government Projects (black-ops). They go back decades, if not centuries, if not millennia when people tried to control the computer. This overlaps with many of today's programs - computer, media, personal, global and beyond. An alien factor is generally present in the equation. Though I'm not much into conspiracy theories, last night's episode was really good as it combined genetic predisposition with the ability to be mind controlled. Everything we think and experience is in our genetic codes. Here is a summary of the episode along with more clues about the secret life of Raymond Reddington and company. I love a good mystery, espionage, but not their byproduct mental illness.

Is everything in our reality a lie? Pretty much so, including reality itself, which is the biggest lie of all.

Though I have never been involved with mind control projects, remote viewing for the government perhaps falls under this heading.

Speaking of codes - which relays to consciousness - many people are having a hard time returning into their physical consciousness after sleeping, meditating, or just in general. Disconnect ... they blame internal and external sources including covert government projects. They could be right or it could be the grids shutting down.

It's all manipulated binary code that comes through the eye or black hole that creates the illusion.

Ten Popular Mind Control Techniques Used Today   The Mind Unleashed - July 14, 2014

The more one researches mind control, the more one will come to the conclusion that there is a coordinated script that has been in place for a very long time with the goal to turn the human race into non-thinking automatons. For as long as man has pursued power over the masses, mind control has been orchestrated by those who study human behavior in order to bend large populations to the will of a small elite group. Today, we have entered a perilous phase where mind control has taken on a physical, scientific dimension that threatens to become a permanent state if we do not become aware of the tools at the disposal of the technocratic dictatorship unfolding on a worldwide scale.

Mind control (also known as brainwashing, coercive persuasion, thought control, or thought reform) is a theoretical indoctrination process which results in "an impairment of autonomy, an inability to think independently, and a disruption of beliefs and affiliations. In this context, brainwashing refers to the involuntary reeducation of basic beliefs and values". The term has been applied to any tactic, psychological or otherwise, which can be seen as subverting an individual's sense of control over their own thinking, behavior, emotions or decision making. Theories of brainwashing and of mind control were originally developed to explain how totalitarian regimes appeared to succeed systematically in indoctrinating prisoners of war through propaganda and torture techniques. These theories were later expanded and modified by psychologists including Jean-Marie Abgrall and Margaret Singer to explain a wider range of phenomena, especially conversions to new religious movements (NRMs). A third-generation theory proposed by Ben Zablocki focused on the use of mind control to retain members of NRMs and cults. The suggestion that NRMs use mind control techniques has resulted in scientific and legal controversy. Read more ...

The Affair

The Affair is an upcoming American television drama that premieres Sunday night on Showtime. Two of my friends were out in Montauk, Long Island this summer, where they filmed the series, working as extras. Joshua Jackson, from Fringe, co-stars in a look at what its like to be caught up in an affair, who how it affects everyone involved.

The topic of infidelity is pretty universal. If you haven't been involved in an affair you know someone who has. Most people understand the risks and repercussions.

I have read many men who have relationships outside of their marriages and see nothing wrong as long as they provide their wife with time and finance. Women today understand that we're not a monogamous race, and hope the dynamic of their marriage will keep everything intact. Cheating, whether emotional or physical, will always have repercussions on a marriage. Technology allows us to find the truth easily these days - you don't need a physic. The man who believes his wife will stay with him is only fooling himself no matter what the rippling repercussions of divorce. And so he will tell me how insane his ex-wife is and all the mistakes she has made, when the marriage was never meant to last. People should own that. Couples stay together as long as they're programmed to.

Infidelity has become a hot topic on TV and in film because the cultural conversation hasn't caught up to the reality. TV and film make everything sexy, glamorous, and something we all want or crave, especially those programmed as Romantics. We all want to be wined and dined and have lustful passionate sex, filled with love and connection. Those involved can vicariously experience the emotions by watching others on the screen in the form of stories. In truth, that is what our experiences here are about.

Married or single, clients often ask me if they will find the person who will make them feel this way. Some will - some won't. In real life, one is left with the reality of their programming, which they often mistake as their decisions.

When people have an affair, it changes their personality - usually doing some pretty terrible things they never thought they could do. Affairs are usually kept hidden - the conspiracy component forever part of our hologram.

Look at an affair. Overlay the current patterns of reality, if you understand them, and you see truth.

People do not necessarily have affairs because they are unhappy in their marriages or relationships. They have affairs because they are searching for something within themselves, usually a more powerful soul connection. We learn about this as we study metaphysics when the traditional partner, who has satisfied most of our needs, segues to the partner who will catalyze us to something greater that will drive us beyond our third dimensional programming.

On another note, people who marry young and work in a family unit, often burnout in their 40s. Hence, another blog - people who will do anything not to work. They sell assets, live off inheritance, 401Ks, and create pipe dreams of being millionaires. Living in what we call a traditional lifestyle is not easy. When it doesn't work, people go to extremes.

Spreading ...

We like to feel we are spreading the truth, knowledge, and anything that will help humanity. The computer age helps spread and disseminate needed information.

In the duality of our reality, negativity seems to be spreading faster as time marches on to an uncertain final moment before it all fades to black.

Ebola is spreading as predicted, along with other diseases.

Global violence is spreading so be careful.

Earth changes are spreading ... noticed when they hit an area where somebody lives otherwise becoming stored information in their computer database called their brain.

Wars and cover-ups are spreading from country to country. Soon it will be hard to determine where they overlap as foreigners join the causes of other nations. There are so many wars and conspiracies it's difficult to keep track especially as those behind the scenes don't always know the truth. Why are people joining ISIS? Why not? They're bored, frustrated, and are programmed to want to make a difference. Everything about Iraq feels wrong and yet Iraq and ISIS are a central focus because that is where our story began ... and ends ... in the "garden".

Mercury Retrograde started Saturday ... or a few days before depending on who you ask. It can affect your life like a comedy of errors or can be a disaster. Food and the Human Experience

October 9, 2014

As far back as I can remember, we have been told what foods are good for us and what foods we should avoid, some of these conclusion later retracted by the medical community. Food choices are strictly a personal experience based on one's genetics and predispositions to allergies among others things that alter what we eat. The best foods are fresh foods. Diets work if one sticks to them. Allergies to foods can cause physical damage to the body and must be explored. Obesity is an epidemic in many countries including the US. There's emotional eating and physical eating - we all know the deal. For as long as this reality continues, food will be a main topic of conversation as it is part of the healing process and that's what we're about. Wednesday - Ellie in Mercury Retrograde

8:00 AM

I'm having a Mercury retrograde day. It all started at 5:30 when I got up to watch "Person of Interest" which I recorded last night. Before that I decided to check email which was probably my first mistake as there was email from overseas advertisers, clients who want appointments today, and more. And so I started my day at the computer and still have not caught up though I will in the next few hours ...

-

I managed to watch the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse - another blood moon - with Chris the weatherman on NBC around 6:30 - very cool but nothing that stirred my soul.
'Blood Moon' lunar eclipse seen in Americas and E Asia   BBC - October 8, 2014

As I scrolled down Ellie's World - making my usual stop at the earthquake map - I was drawn to the 6.2 earthquake in the Gulf of California today. You can't have an eclipse without a big earthquake which took me to an article from last week - Earthquake swarm: Why 600 mini-quakes hit Mammoth Lakes, Calif.   CSM - September 27, 2014

Email just in from an advertiser in Bali ... have to run.

-

Two hours later in retrograde

The porter in my building has been trying to remove the portable air-conditioner in my office. So far he has been called away three times and yet we are not giving up as it sits in my foyer waiting to leave for the winter. My other two air-conditioners - in the bedroom and living room - are both heaters and air conditioners so they remain all year. They are new and work great.

-

5:20 PM

Crystalinks' new advertisers are all posted and happy. Glad that all worked out well as some of their new codes are foreign to me.

-

On my way home from putting my air conditioner in the storage locker, I stopped to buy new plants for my bathroom at Home Depot which is in the same area. I drove across the parking lot and parked outside the 'plant area'. I only wanted one to two plants but soon found myself filling up my shopping cart as these plants all called out to me. I love the braided ones never having had anything like them. "What luck in retrograde" I thought as I walked to the far end of Home Debut to pay. One by one the cashier neatly checked out each plant until she got to the purple one then made a face. "No! Not the purple one .... could it have a problem?" As we both stood there admiring it, she told me it didn't have a barcode so she couldn't scan it. I had two choices. She could call someone who would walk over to the plant area and get another one just to scan or I could walk back and get one then bring it back to her. I chose to walk the walk.

-

Driving home - only 4 exits away - the traffic suddenly stopped. Mercury - the God of Transportation - had reared his ugly head once again. Sadly there was a fender bender on the highway - no injuries - just delays.

Back at home I did my best to catch up with the things I had left undone from the morning.

After the plants were put on their shelves, the phone calls returned, and the emails answered... I sat down to watch "Person of Interest". Ding dong! Now what? It was the FedEx guy who needed to be let into the building. I peaked outside to make sure it was really him and yes his truck was there so I pushed the buzzer and let him in.

I looked at the clock and realized there was no point in trying to watch "Person of Interest" as it was almost time to read my next client.

After the reading ... nothing was going to stop me from my rendezvous with Harold, John and the rest of the cast. They would not disappoint. Loved the episode. Sometimes the best is left for last.

High School Football

High school football is in the news. We love to see our favorite High School team win, our friends and family members become heroes, but in the long term it's risky business. Yet we've always known the risks and often the hidden secrets and agendas that rule the "games within the game" which also include the sexual misconduct of many coaches and those in authority. Nothing is new - just recycled patterns that were programmed to be revealed at the end of the hologram.

Let's get to head injuries in High School football players - very common. This information is not new, but now we are investigating the long term effects of students who had head injuries while playing high school football or another contact sport. You may one of them.

Yesterday on the news, I watched a former player, now in his 20s, tell his story of waking up one day thinking he had gone into the kitchen to have breakfast only to discover none of that ever happened - he was disoriented and later discovered he had early stage Alzheimer's disease.

One must remember that other high school sports can also create head injuries and permanent damage. When my daughter Zsia was a high school gymnast - who went on to the US regional finals - some of the moms were scared to death. My attitude was "Zsia is protected" and she was.

At the end of the day ... we will live out our time here based on our programming and hope for the best. What we have come to understand is that any part of the body - even our emotions - that gets abused will breakdown followed by shutdown.

We are only at the "teenage stages" in terms of learning about our computer brains - though we won't be here long enough to find the answers to many sought after questions through the centuries. Every week I post current discoveries on Ezine about the working of the brain.
