A magnitude-6.9 earthquake struck off the coast of Northern California on Sunday night, the U.S. Geological Service reported. The epicenter was 48 miles west-northwest of Ferndale and 50 miles west of Eureka at a depth of 4.3 miles, the USGS said.
It's doubtful ... but imagine what it would mean if any evidence of the fate of this flight was never recovered (Shades of the Bermuda Triangle.) Then there's the Devil's Sea or "Pacific Bermuda Triangle" - a region of the Pacific around Miyake Island, about 100 km south of Tokyo. All of those ongoing earthquakes in and near Japan - not to forget the 2011 tsunami - might be connected.
