Sci-Fi Adventures

I've met aliens in the most interesting place ...

Warning: Be careful who you get into bed with !!

Looking for a sci-fi experience over the next few days? The largest comic con festival begins today in San Diego. There's lots of ways to follow the events, meet the actors, learn about the destiny of some of your favorite programs and characters, and more.

Across the Pond ...

Science fiction takes over London as Worldcon and Nine Worlds land   The Guardian - July 24, 2014
With two of the biggest events on the world SF calendar coming to town this August, others are racing to join in. London is set to be the centre of the science fiction universe this summer as the giants of the speculative literary world head for four major events spread out over little more than a week. The big one, of course, is the 72nd World Science Fiction Convention, held from 14 August 14 to 18 August at the ExCel centre in the Docklands. If Worldcon is the venerable grandmaster of SF conferences, then the new kid snapping at its heels is the Nine Worlds Geekfest, taking place for the second time the weekend before, 8-10 August, at the Radisson hotel in Heathrow.

If those events don't do it for you, how about the return of the TV series Ancient Aliens Friday night on H2. This is the start of Season 7, so don't expect too much new in story lines, though the writer and producers do have a way of explaining the unexplained by attributing events to ancient alien visitors. Well ...... It's either ancient aliens, inserts in the hologram, or inserts in the hologram that include ancient aliens. Are some of you still trying to sort that out? It all begins with one of my favorite topics, "The Reptilians". Yes ... yes ... we know ... it all goes back to the Anunnaki who were played by the gray aliens as reptilians ... and so on down the DNA line including the mythological gods of ancient civilizations. Sometimes stories have to be recycled to awaken the sleeping prophet within.

Extant

I've watched the first three episodes of Extant and not an alien in sight (insight). The only thing creepy is the little boy. It's turning out to be more of a psychological thriller than an alien adventure. Nothing about the series makes me want to second-guess where the storylines are going as with -- "X-Files, "Fringe", "Stargate SG1" and their mythologies and wake-up codes.

Spielberg also produces "Falling Skies" on TNT - another show that falls flat. It centers around humanity's fight for freedom, from all sorts of mean aliens who come to conquer Earth. Along the way they also produce a female hybrid child, like Allie in Taken and probably the plot in Extant.

Spielberg seems to be focused on alien human interaction to produce a more advanced race. Has that already happened? If so, who is this female? Does this take us to Ancient Alien biogenetic experiments? The Jesus storyline? It seems interesting to find out where the grids are leading Spielberg. His films are an ongoing storyline in themselves about the destiny of humanity. For now, let's see what the future holds for Extant.
