Politics

This morning at 9:30 Eastern time - as I'll be reading a client in Moscow (not political) - the gavel falls in the Senate Judiciary Committee when the first confirmation hearings for members of the Trump cabinet get underway. In the coming days, the first real pieces of the Trump administration will fall into place. I'm sure you have your opinions on his nominees as well as his son-in-law Jared. Today focuses on Trump's attorney general pick Senator Jeff Sessions and for homeland security, Gen. John F. Kelly. As many as five nominees are scheduled to testify tomorrow when the Senate may hold a marathon session to further efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Also happening tomorrow, Trump is scheduled to hold his first formal news conference since July. Always remember what he says now will change along with his support of the new cabinet, health insurance, and just about everything else.

Tonight, President Obama will deliver his farewell address - a last chance to defend his legacy before Trump takes office.

Coming next week ... January 20 - the presidential Inauguration Day and January 21 Women's March on Washington
