Divided

We remain a nation divided, growing tensions within and without, the greatest threat as yet unknown. To discover the truth is to understand how we will find freedom sought throughout humanity's journey. We will probably not find that answer until the end of the illusion of time in which we immerse our thoughts and actions.

The bitter ideological divisions splitting the United States exploded into violence yesterday in Charlottesville, Va., where white nationalists had gathered to protest the city's plan to remove a statue memorializing the Confederate general Robert E. Lee. An Ohio man was charged with murder after a car he was driving plowed into a crowd of counter demonstrators, killing at least one person and injuring at least 19 others. About 35 were injured over all in Saturday's violence. Terry McAuliffe, Virginia's governor, declared a state of emergency. Adding to the turmoil, a Virginia State Police helicopter crashed southwest of Charlottesville, killing two troopers. The cause was not known, but the authorities said the helicopter had been monitoring the protests. Many of the demonstrators wore helmets and carried shields, waved Confederate flags and chanted neo-Nazi slogans. Trump -- once again -- failed to condemn the alt-right, white supremacists.

Cruising through Life ~ Queen Mary 2 Adventures

its maiden trans-atlantic voyage into New York Harbor April 22, 2004?

Queen Mary 2 today

Late Saturday afternoon I went to the promenade to watch the ocean liners on their way to various destinations. While sitting on a bench I met the nicest couple - Kathy and Jim from Bay Ridge - my age - whose friends were on the Queen Mary 2 sailing off to England and beyond. We waved and took pics - sent texts - then sat and talked until the sun set. It's all water under the bridge.

Jim took this extreme close-up as Kathy laughed and said I have a ship above my head. Maybe it was another kind of ship? (wink)

Bon Voyage

The X-Files

Last week The X--Files started filming Season 11 in Vancouver. The show will have fewer mythology episodes as they have all been rehashed too many times. Let's get to alien agendas and dissemination.

I still record the old shows that air locally, again only watching episodes about aliens. In the latest rerun, agents Mulder, Scully, and Doggett investigated an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. The episode was a series milestone, and featured the last appearance of the alien black oil before the series finale. The episode's title "Vienen" is a Spanish word meaning "they come" or "they are coming". Read more
