World Environment Day

2017 Theme: "Reconnecting to Nature"

From the NY Times: After President Trump's decision last week to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate accord, we looked at how the Republican Party went from debating ways to combat climate change to seeing it as a hoax. It's a story of big money and Democratic hubris. We also collected reactions from the right and the left to Trump's decision, which came 16 years after another U.S. president decided to withdraw from a climate pact. And we visited a high school in Ohio where, as teachers seek to integrate climate science into the curriculum, they face students who are suspicious of evidence of a human role in global warming. Trump is to introduce a plan this week calling on states, cities and corporations to shoulder most of the cost of rebuilding roads, bridges, railways and waterways.
