Voyager Reaches Mystery Interstellar Doorstep Discovery - June 27, 2013
Voyager's prolonged journey into interstellar space took another dramatic turn when the intrepid space probe last summer passed into a bizarre and unanticipated cosmic hallway between the bubble of space under the sun's influence and whatever lies beyond. On the celestial highway since September 1977, the Voyager 1 probe soared past Jupiter and Saturn in 1979 and 1980, respectively, then ended up an a path that led toward interstellar space. Eventually, the spacecraft will get there, but exactly when that will happen -- and what else it may encounter before then -- is anybody's guess.

Data from NASA's Voyager 1 spacecraft continues to provide new insight on the outskirts of our solar system, a frontier thought to be the last that Voyager will cross before becoming the first man-made object to reach interstellar space. Cruising through what scientists describe as a curious, unexpected charged-particle environment, Voyager has detected, for the first time, low-energy galactic cosmic rays, now that particles of the same energy from inside the bubble around our Sun disappeared. As a result, Voyager now sees the highest level so far of particles from outside our solar bubble that originate from the death of other nearby stars.

Last week, I blogged about Ellie's Temporal Experiences Part 2 - The Laundry Room Incident. Today, I watched the video surveillance tape with my super Sal. We watched me put the sheets and towels in two washers, returning 30 minutes later and placing them in two dryers, then returning to get my laundry, which was all there. We watched as I left then returned at 11:22, opened dryer 2 but found it empty then found the wet towels in the dryer. I have to go back and get those images when Sal is free. They clearly show everything as I remembered it. Time re-sequenced and Ellie Time Traveled again.
