June Adventures

It's the last day of May, but June is here ... somewhere in the world. We start the month with the every-day dramas people face but great weather helps with healing.

June brings vacations, concerts and festivals, weddings, reunions, proms, graduations, and thoughts about the future through tears/years of joy and sorrow.
There Are Now More 22-Year-Olds in America Than Any Other Age

-

Last night, Pat, Jane, and I had dinner, then walked through the park across the street to watch local High School Seniors taking pictures before their prom. Did you go to your senior prom? I didn't as I graduated earlier in January, but I did go to the senior prom with a guy named Norman who was two years older. "Normie" as we called him - was close friends with Neil Diamond who lived 3 doors down from me. We hung out in Neil's basement back in the day in Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn. I wish we had cell phones to take pics and selfies back then.

-

Each generation is smarter than the last, their brains adapting for the future they are programmed to experience. Today we have a huge increase in children with photographic memories. Without emotional problems they can create most anything. Further, they have no problem understanding that we live in a hologram.

How do you spell T-I-E? National Spelling Bee has two winners   CNN - May 30, 2014

Sriram Hathwar and Ansun Sujoe correctly spelled so many words Thursday that the Scripps National Spelling Bee had to declare them both winners. Why? Because there weren't enough words left on the competition's list for them to keep facing off until only one was left standing.

June and Sports

June will be a great month for sports for those of us who enjoy the games. Here in New York, the Rangers compete for the Stanley Cup. Over at Belmont Race Track in Queens, my favorite horse California Chrome, has the opportunity to win the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing for three-year olds.

Since 1919, when Sir Barton became the first horse to win the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes, only 11 horses have won racing's most prestigious prize, the Triple Crown. Affirmed, in 1978, was the last horse to achieve the remarkable feat of winning all three races, at three different distances, at three different tracks, in the space of five weeks. The current 32-year gap between Triple Crown winners is the longest drought in the series' history; in 1973 Secretariat ended a 25-year hiatus dating back to Citation's 1948 triumph. In all, 21 horses, including seven in the past 13 years, have come into the Belmont Stakes with victories in the Derby and Preakness winners, only to fall short in the 1 1/2 mile "Test of the Champion."

June 12 begins the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Fans cheer on US World Cup team in Times Square   Yahoo - May 31, 2014 -- A crowd of about 2,000 filled part of New York's Times Square to cheer the U.S. World Cup team during a televised send-off pep rally Friday night.

Then there's the ongoing saga of Donald Sterling and the LA Clippers that was supposed to end now with the sale of the team to Steve Ballmer, but now Sterling is suing the NBA. I really wish this would go away.

Sperm count may be up in the spring but ...

Sugary Drinks May Slow Down Sperm   Live Science - May 30, 2014
Men might want to think twice before grabbing another soda out of the fridge. Scientists have already shown sugary drinks can add unwanted inches to waistlines, but a new study shows sugar-sweetened drinks such as soda may also lower semen quality. The researchers found that high consumption of sugary drinks was associated with low sperm motility, or sperm movement - but surprisingly, this was true only for healthy, lean men. The researchers found no relationship between sugary drink consumption and sperm motility in overweight or obese men.

Stress degrades sperm quality, study shows   Science Daily - May 29, 2014
Psychological stress is harmful to sperm and semen quality, affecting its concentration, appearance, and ability to fertilize an egg, according to a study. It is not fully understood how stress affects semen quality. It may trigger the release of steroid hormones called glucocorticoids, which in turn could blunt levels of testosterone and sperm production. Another possibility is oxidative stress, which has been shown to affect semen quality and fertility.

Manhattanhenge

New York Today: Manhattanhenge   New York Times - May 29, 2014
Just before sunset, the sun will line up with Manhattan's cross streets. For 15 minutes, beginning just after 8 p.m., the sun will appear on the edge of the grid in half-disk form, like a postcard.

Manhattanhenge - sometimes referred to as the Manhattan Solstice - is a circumstance which occurs twice a year, during which the setting sun aligns with the east-west streets of the main street grid in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. The neologism is derived from Stonehenge, where the sun aligns with the stones on the solstices with a similarly dramatic effect. The word was popularized in 2002 by Neil deGrasse Tyson, an astrophysicist at the American Museum of Natural History. The term applies to those streets that follow the Commissioners' Plan of 1811, which are laid out in a grid offset 29.0 degrees from true eastÐwest. (The 29.0 degrees should be added to true east and west, making the western bearing approximately 299.0 degrees.) During Manhattanhenge, an observer on one of the gridded east-west streets will see the sun setting over New Jersey directly opposite, from the street, along its centerline. Read more ...

Brian William Interviews Edward Snowden

Inside the Mind of Edward Snowden   NBC - May 29, 2014

Last night I watched news anchor Brian Williams interview Edward Snowden on NBC News. I have mixed feelings about what Snowden did and how he did it - patriot, traitor, or somewhere in-between. By now, you know the issues, or think you do, and have drawn your own conclusions.

One of the greatest faults of our government is keeping secrets from the public - which always ends in chaos and destruction. After weighing the pros and cons of Snowden's actions ... all I can say is ... He was programmed to do it, or it never would have happened. It was time. Coming home and getting clemency by the US government is not an option, for obvious reasons.

  Edward Snowden tells NBC: I'm a patriot   CNN - May 29, 2014
Slammed by top U.S. government officials and facing espionage charges in the United States, former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden defended his decision to leak documents about classified surveillance programs during an interview with NBC "Nightly News" broadcast Wednesday.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370

I'm sure you already knew they would not find debris, the black boxes, or any other evidence that the flight wound up where they were searching. It simply disappeared and no one wants to admit the truth because it involves covert projects, reverse engineering, and perhaps something no one can explain out of fear, much like the Bermuda Triangle which takes us to magnetic anomalies. Evidence has been falsified and people can see through the deceptions. This will remain an unsolved mystery.

"Look" for the airplane and the passengers now. What do you see? To me they are in another time and space altogether - crash landing - most surviving. That is where my "streaming consciousness video" of the grids ends. It also makes you wonder what happened to Amelia Earhart who disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island on July 2, 1937. Map

Search area for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 'can now be discounted'   CNN - May 29, 2014
The 850 square kilometers scanned off the coast of western Australia in the hunt for a missing Malaysia Airlines plane are not the "final resting place of MH370," the agency leading the search said Thursday.

Twenty-Two

22 is an interesting number and age. For many students it represents graduation from university where one has to grow up in a world that says;

"Take your time. You'll probably live to 100 so why rush."

"Nothing makes sense so have fun and party."

"I've saw a therapist but stopped going. I knew more than him."

"When someone pisses me off, I tell them they have ADHD or Aspergers."

"Social media has good and bad influences but it's part of my life."

"Our generation will be different than the past ... it will be better."

"I won't work unless I am passionate about what I do and the job makes a difference." "I want to make a difference".

There Are Now More 22-Year-Olds in America Than Any Other Age   The Wire - May 28, 2014
For the first time since 1947, America's most common age is no longer part of the Baby Boom generation. Millennials have taken over.

Elliot Roger was 22 when he totally lost it and went on a killing spree May 23, 2014. Adam Lanza, perpetuator of the Sandy Hook Elementary School Shootings in 2012, would have been 22 this year.

-

In numerology, 22 is often called the Master Builder or Spiritual Master in Form. This 'master number' includes all the attributes of the number 2, twice over, and also those of the 4. People who are 22s are said to find themselves feeling as if they live in two worlds, one which is overwhelmed by the mundane, and the other by the fantastic. In the divinatory Tarot, there are 22 major arcana cards. These cards are numbered 0-21, so it is a matter of interpretation whether The Fool or The World is card number 22. The latter card is almost always associated with hard workers, a red-gold color, and a rose-gold gemstone. Interestingly, the digital root of the 22 is the 4, which is the number of hard work.

Twenty-two is a higher octave of four. It contains the secrets to many esoteric questions, as evidenced by the fact that there are twenty two letters in the Hebrew alphabet, twenty two pathways in many versions of the Kabbalah, and twenty two cards in the Major Arcana. Twenty two carries with it psychic gifts such as heightened sensitivity, intuition and psychic awareness, but is also predisposed to pitfalls such as treachery from hidden enemies and over sensitivity.

22 represents practical idealism - practical genius, creator of the future, power on all levels, master of the material, philanthropy, universality, international direction, and service to mankind.

Children of the New Moon

May 28, 2014 - New Moon 7° Gemini - 2:40 PM EDT

Above and Below - Gemini Duality

Connor and Joie, 11, finish 5th grade

We generally relate to New Moon energies from an adult perspective. But children are also going through changes, particularly at this time, with the school year ending and thoughts ranging from summer fun to travel and more. Many children take classes or go away to summer camps that will forever change their destinies. Theme camps can range from sports to creativity, to science and more. Imaginations grow as their futures are set in motion ... their DNA codes unfolding like a flower in a time-lapse sequence as all of reality is accelerating.

My granddaughter Joie and her friend Connor are both gifted students. Joey will spend the summer in cheerleading day camp. I'm not sure what Connor's plans are though they have been spending a lot of time together. It's one of those innocent little romances that start in childhood with puberty just ahead.

When the moon is new - the Sun and Moon are aligned in the same sign - which this month is Gemini and all that goes with its energies. A New Moon is a symbolic point of attention, and a portal for new beginnings that could come full circle in six months - December 6, 2014 - Full Moon 14° Gemini.

Gemini is ruled by Mercury -- the God of transportation and communication. If you believe in the influences of Mercury Retrograde ... it all begins June 7 to July 1, 2014.

I hope you're enjoying Memorial Day Weekend. Sunday, I drove to Manhattan to spend the day with friends who live in the Dakota, home to Yoko Ono. What an amazing building with two security gates just to get in. Security rivals the Kim and Kanye wedding.

Along the way I passed the Intrepid docked on the West Side and saw the many sailors and tourist out enjoying the picture perfect day. Walking around the upper west side ... lunch at an outdoor cafe ... a buggy ride around Central Park after many years ... made the day perfect. Today we have the annual memorial day parade here in Brooklyn. Lots of military will be here along with families and veterans.

Technology

For me ... the more updated tech gets - the better. Last week, the Steve Harvey show had a segment about surviving without technology. A couple in their 40's, from Silicon Valley, and their eight-year-old daughter, spent five days somewhere in the woods of California with no technology to bond. The husband is a VP at a tech company though I forget which one. At one point I thought the wife was going to lose it, but they survived. At the end of the show the couple showed how they bonded with their daughter by spending uninterrupted time together. It may seem like an interesting experiment - but technology saves lives and brings needed information. To use a paper map when you have GPS seems silly to me - not to mention everything else that is part of most of our lives and society today. What if there was an earthquake in California while they were away - they never would have known. But then again - the film crew I'm sure all had the latest technology in case of emergency. All the couple had to do was take their daughter away and only use their cell phones and other products when necessary. This is why reality TV is not my thing as it is staged. In the end I'm sure the family was happy when they got home and had their tech stuff again.

Spring Weddings

The most lavish wedding to come along since William and Kate took place Saturday when Kim Kardashian married Kanye West at the historic 16th century Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy, on Saturday in an intimate (but not so secret!) ceremony which was attended by the couple's nearest and dearest. To other readers of this blog who are getting married now - and their families - congratulations to all.

Memorial Day 2014: Fleet Week, Graduation, Life, Humor

Sunday May 25, 2014

Wednesday I watched the ships arrive for Fleet Week 2014. My building is not seen but is just to the left of the Verrazano Bridge on the photo above. The troops have been having fun visiting New York City, appearing on talk shows among other venues.

A ship of any kind is a metaphor for one's life path. Has your ship come in? Metaphors: Is your life a Battle Ship? Cruiser? Sail Boat? Other? I feel like a submarine in the flow of the collective unconscious - with the eye of my periscope peering out at the world - able to turn 360°. I also feel like a different type of ship - a consciousness spaceship - watching life in the hologram from above.

Fleet Week is part of Memorial Day Weekend as many people make plans - consciousness now shifting to summer mode/code which includes - travel, concerts, celebrations, and in general - their next phase of change.

In some areas, school is over and graduation has happened. Thursday, my grandson Giovanni, in Chandler, Arizona, graduated from middle school. He's off to high school in mid-July. In other states, like NY and NJ, proms, senior trips and activities, and graduation are all part of June's activities.

What are parents asking during their readings? If they have a child who is graduating now, they want to know what comes next, in the reality where people grow up later than in prior generations. This has to do with longevity and the fact that everything starts later in life - marriage(s), family, career(s) ... nothing is as we conceive to be in the years ahead ... contingent upon the hologram continuing.

One of the biggest problems for parents is teens graduating High School who are not emotionally or intellectually programmed to attend college or trade school. Some of these teens may be lucky enough to get jobs from friends or family - if they even keep them. Others are going to stay home and do nothing as parents go crazy. This is not new as we look at the patterns and now recognize "the great divide" by those who are emotionally stable, positive, and move forward and others who are permanently programmed for challenges.

Where do the bullies in school come from and what happens to them? They generally come from abusive backgrounds, display emotional problems in childhood, and though we may think they will outgrow their issues, they definitely carry them into adulthood.

Some High School grads may work at teen jobs to save money then move out or travel to find themselves. Many adults are in that same place - life is boring, depressive, meaningless, and frustrating. They want to retire from it all and find their greater purpose or just play - especially if they have been caretakers.

Caretaker alert !! You are burning out and need to find some balance, or someone to help you. Your health will suffer otherwise.

Reinventing oneself seems to be the overwhelming pattern that follows us through life.

Good luck to all in finding something to do that you are passionate about, brings self fulfillment, and hopefully income as money generally represents freedom.

Try this mantra or one like it: "If I'm programmed for greatness now ... bring it!" Then wait.

If you're pitching an idea or concept, try putting some humor into it. It goes along way in getting people's attention and connection. They will remember you better.

They say that laughing improves your memory, lowers your blood-pressure and stress hormones. Some of us find humor in everything while others are programmed to have a chip on their shoulder and always have something challenging to say about everything. When I talk to my closest friends, we spend much of our conversations just laughing. Laughing makes you feel good without external chemical stimulants, though it does affect the brain as if a drug. Mark Cuban

I watched the story on the news this morning and though Mark Cuban may have not presented his case in the most tasteful way - I agree with him. I have few fears, but, as a woman, one of them is seeing a black man in a hoodie nearby at night as I walked along. It's all about conditioning. As for Donald Sterling - Arsenio appeared on "The Talk" Thursday and talked about his personal experience when he met Sterling and many unknown facts about his racial and gender prejudices. What a f***ed up man he is - not to mention V. Stiviano. I watched her on Entertainment Tonight. What a piece of work!

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban: I have prejudices; everyone does   CNN - May 23, 2014
Mark Cuban is known for making pointed statements. Usually they are directed at the NBA brass or referees. On Wednesday, he made a few remarks about bigotry that in light of the Donald Sterling scandal caused a bit of an uproar. In an interview with Inc. magazine at a business conference in Nashville, Tennessee, the Dallas Mavericks owner and billionaire entrepreneur talked about his own bigotry. "If I see a black kid in a hoodie and it's late at night, I'm walking to the other side of the street," he said. "And if on that side of the street, there's a guy that has tattoos all over his face -- white guy, bald head, tattoos everywhere -- I'm walking back to the other side of the street."

Hmmm .... HAARP

We've all been suspicious of HAARP at one time or another. I remember when it started in 1993 shortly before I came online. When flight MH 370 disappeared on March 8, 2014, I thought it was due to some sort of covert project involved with time travel that might link to HAARP. Just as with Area 51, we've always waited for the government to tell us the truth, but they never did. One never knows what technologies - either given by aliens or reversed from their technology - have influenced our destinies. And now two months after MH 370 - HAARP is being shut down. Is that a project metaphor for reality?

Secret Weapon? Conspiracy Theories Abound as US Military Closes HAARP   Live Science - May 23, 2014
The U.S. Air Force has notified Congress that it intends to shut down HAARP, a controversial Alaska-based research facility that studies an energetic and active region of the upper atmosphere. Conspiracy theorists are abuzz about the news, given that HAARP (short for High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) has long been the center of wild speculation that the program is designed to control the weather - or worse. In 2010, Venezuelan leader Huge Chavez claimed that HAARP or a program like it triggered the Haiti earthquake. For the record, the Haitian quake of 2010 was caused by the slippage of a previously unmapped fault along the border of the Caribbean and North American tectonic plates.

Live Science - May 21, 2014

Ancient fossils now reveal that the deep sea may be the origin of many lineages of sea creatures found closer to the surface, such as a number of sea stars, sea urchins and snails, researchers say. These new findings suggest the deep sea has played a much greater role in producing and preserving diversity in marine life than once thought, scientists added. The deep sea was long thought to be a lifeless desert. Intense research in the last few decades, however, has revealed that it actually supports one of the highest levels of biodiversity on Earth.

Bay Ridge Happenings

Tuesday May 20, 2014

Last night, my neighbor Joanne stopped by to tell me that her 9/11 story was one of 5 permanently selected, and could be heard, at the the new 9/11 Memorial Museum. Saturday she visited the museum and found it to be emotionally depressing and not for everyone. She feels immortalized in the energy of the events of that day, yet every time we talk about it, I can feel her trauma. I believe rehashing dramatic events does not allow people to move forward and heal.

Visitors to the museum, and those who were there, will reflect on the past while looking toward the future with optimism, but the tempered sort of optimism that comes with growth and experience - the understanding that while there will be bad days and worse days, the world is not an inherently dark place, and that the good, once found, can last forever in one form or another, if not always (or often) the form we'd find most ideal. Remember ... it's just a story folks ...

The following takes place between 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm ... (music from "24").

After Joanne left I watched the season final of "Bones" followed by "24". Lots of action as I dozed off ... entering the grids to experience from another level of consciousness.

The following takes place between 2:00 am - 3:00 am ... (music from "24").

Helicopters were heard overhead, along with sirens blaring in the night, in what is usually a quiet neighborhood. I opened my eyes, pushed the shade (room darkener) back enough to peek out, saw nothing, then went back to sleep.

The following takes place between 6:00 am - 7:00 am (music from "24").

Sunlight crept in at the place I had moved the shade, forgetting to tuck it back in. I like to sleep in total darkness. I generally wake up with sunlight and get tired at sunset. I suppose my brain is programmed that way.

My wake-up dream was a serious of snippets, as if from a movie reel, in which events experienced yesterday presented themselves to my consciousness in no logical sequence - like photos. That was new.

I walked to my office, check emailed and thought about what to blog as the morning news played in the background. And this is what I heard ...

Man Allegedly Stabs Woman to Death, Slashes Boy in Brooklyn   NBC - May 20, 2014
A 52-year-old Brooklyn man is in custody after police say he allegedly stabbed a 46-year-old woman to death and slashed a 14-year-old boy before stabbing himself in the stomach. Police got a call about an assault at an apartment on Marine Avenue in Bay Ridge shortly before 2:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a 46-year-old woman with a stab wound to the neck, a 14-year-old boy who had been slashed in the forearm and the 52-year-old man with a stab wound to the stomach. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police say. The 14-year-old and the 52-year-old were both taken to Lutheran Hospital in stable condition. The 52-year-old man was then taken into custody.

FYI: Marine Avenue in Bay Ridge = 98th Street. I live on 101st Street. I'm not sure if I know the people mentioned in the story. Will find out more later. Do I have to blog again that the world is going crazy?

Woman in Broadcast Journalism

Friday, Barbara Walters made her final appearance on The View, which featured women in broadcast journalism who have been inspired by Barbara's dedication and work. Oprah led the parade of women to not only say goodbye, but to say "thank you" for paving the way. I loved it when Oprah picked up the microphone and took over as she introduced the women. It was like she was in control of the whole event and it was so cool. We salute you, Barbara, - and the other ladies - great job!

In my own way, I feel part of their world having hosted:

Two TV talk shows - "The Metaphysical Experience" and "Satellite Psychic",

Blog Talk Radio - "Ellie's World",

Blogging for the past 18+ years, sometimes interviewing interesting people.

I have this feeling that the most important part of my work in media is going to show itself in the near future. ;)

Media, of all the professions, is always in a state of flux and change. It is totally unpredictable - and yet represents one of the greatest forums for bringing social, economic, political, and other issues to the fore. Broadcast media, combined with social media, takes you to the forefront of evolution in a matter of minutes.

Earth Changes - Updated

We always follow events in the Pacific but now let's have a look at the Atlantic.

Very strong 6.0 earthquake out of the coast of Guadeloupe (Caribbean)   Earthquake Report.com - May 16, 2014
he image below shows the Atlantic North American oceanic plate who moves to the West and a Caribbean plate who moves to the East. The oceanic plate dives below the arc with the islands and sometimes hangs (instead of gradually creeping below it). When the energy gets too big the friction area breaks and an earthquake is generated.

Do Men Have a Higher
Threshold for Pain?

We all face pain at different times in our lives - from the moment of birth when we shout out our first scream. From that point forward, life continues on with both physical and emotional pain, up until the time we leave this reality. The journey of humanity is often about healing and relieving pain.

Surveys and clinical studies have confirmed that women actually experience more pain, with greater frequency and intensity. They take more painkillers, suffer more from common pain-related conditions such as migraine headache and musculoskeletal disorders, and visit their physician more often with pain-related complaints. Interestingly, there may also be gender differences in responses to some analgesics, including possible side effects. Read More ...

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - CFS

As far back as I can remember, I have read clients who are burned out and suffer from an autoimmune disease called chronic fatigue syndrome. I associate CFS with depression - when life gets too stressful and out-of-control. CRASH! Holistic medicine has made great inroads in alleviating the symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome, though there is no cure. Read more ...

History of Medicine

From the beginning, humans sought ways to heal themselves. From prehistory to current day we are still in search of cures using old and new methods. Early healers were often referred to as magicians, medicine men, or shamans. It's often said that there was no tradition of scientific medicine in medieval times. According to the usual narrative of the history of progress, medicine in the European Middle Ages - from around the 5th to the 15th centuries - was a formless mass of superstition and folk remedies; the very antithesis of science. And those who look in medieval medicine for precursors of modern pathology, surgery, antibiotics, or genetics will of course find it a failure. Read more ...

9/11 Memorial Museum

Thursday was the dedication ceremonies of the 9/11 Memorial Museum - an emotionally moving day here in the city. President Obama called the National September 11 Memorial Museum a sacred place of healing and of hope that captures both the story and the spirit of heroism and helping others that followed the attacks. As you know the area below the new buildings, as told to me by workers involved with the construction, is haunted. Add some of the artifacts that are part of the museum and this energy will increase - for better or better worse. Read more ...

First Americans

People wonder about the migration of humans to the North American continent. But what if it was the other way around ... what if early Americans spread out and went to other continents. Perhaps, as we live in a hologram, everything is an insert and nobody ever migrated anywhere. Things are not always what they seem.

DNA recovered from 12,000-year-old skeleton help to dispel claims that first Americans came from Australia, Asia or Europe. A near-complete human skeleton has been discovered, buried alongside saber-toothed cats, pumas and bobcats, at the bottom of Hoyo Negro, deep beneath the jungles of the eastern Yucatan Peninsula.
