Manhattanhenge

New York Today: Manhattanhenge   New York Times - May 29, 2014
Just before sunset, the sun will line up with Manhattan's cross streets. For 15 minutes, beginning just after 8 p.m., the sun will appear on the edge of the grid in half-disk form, like a postcard.

Manhattanhenge - sometimes referred to as the Manhattan Solstice - is a circumstance which occurs twice a year, during which the setting sun aligns with the east-west streets of the main street grid in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. The neologism is derived from Stonehenge, where the sun aligns with the stones on the solstices with a similarly dramatic effect. The word was popularized in 2002 by Neil deGrasse Tyson, an astrophysicist at the American Museum of Natural History. The term applies to those streets that follow the Commissioners' Plan of 1811, which are laid out in a grid offset 29.0 degrees from true eastÐwest. (The 29.0 degrees should be added to true east and west, making the western bearing approximately 299.0 degrees.) During Manhattanhenge, an observer on one of the gridded east-west streets will see the sun setting over New Jersey directly opposite, from the street, along its centerline. Read more ...

Brian William Interviews Edward Snowden

Inside the Mind of Edward Snowden   NBC - May 29, 2014

Last night I watched news anchor Brian Williams interview Edward Snowden on NBC News. I have mixed feelings about what Snowden did and how he did it - patriot, traitor, or somewhere in-between. By now, you know the issues, or think you do, and have drawn your own conclusions.

One of the greatest faults of our government is keeping secrets from the public - which always ends in chaos and destruction. After weighing the pros and cons of Snowden's actions ... all I can say is ... He was programmed to do it, or it never would have happened. It was time. Coming home and getting clemency by the US government is not an option, for obvious reasons.

  Edward Snowden tells NBC: I'm a patriot   CNN - May 29, 2014
Slammed by top U.S. government officials and facing espionage charges in the United States, former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden defended his decision to leak documents about classified surveillance programs during an interview with NBC "Nightly News" broadcast Wednesday.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370

I'm sure you already knew they would not find debris, the black boxes, or any other evidence that the flight wound up where they were searching. It simply disappeared and no one wants to admit the truth because it involves covert projects, reverse engineering, and perhaps something no one can explain out of fear, much like the Bermuda Triangle which takes us to magnetic anomalies. Evidence has been falsified and people can see through the deceptions. This will remain an unsolved mystery.

"Look" for the airplane and the passengers now. What do you see? To me they are in another time and space altogether - crash landing - most surviving. That is where my "streaming consciousness video" of the grids ends. It also makes you wonder what happened to Amelia Earhart who disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island on July 2, 1937. Map

Search area for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 'can now be discounted'   CNN - May 29, 2014
The 850 square kilometers scanned off the coast of western Australia in the hunt for a missing Malaysia Airlines plane are not the "final resting place of MH370," the agency leading the search said Thursday.
