Mother's Day 2014

This weekend's focus is on Mother's Day. Sunday in the northeast looks like beautiful weather and a great day to go out and share with family. Former Mother's Day blogs were about dealing with issues with one's mother, the Mother-Goddess connection that goes back to the beginning in the Middle East and Afrca, and all things connected with women's spirituality. This year ... all I can think about is the Nigerian situation and the students, taken from their mothers and sold into slavery. It goes beyond the situation and into the treatment of women throughout history.

Nigeria's military had advance warning of the attack on a school at which some 270 girls were kidnapped but failed to act, a rights group says. Amnesty International says it was told by several credible sources that the military was given more than fours hours' warning of the raid.

Tampering With DNA Codes


This almost seems like part of an alien agenda from the TV series "Ancient Aliens". It would go to biogenetic manipulation to create a more highly evolved human.

Scientists reported Wednesday that they had taken a significant step toward altering the fundamental alphabet of life creating an organism with an expanded artificial genetic code in its DNA. The accomplishment might eventually lead to organisms that can make medicines or industrial products that cells with only the natural genetic code cannot. Read more ...
