Currency

Money and finance is the focus today. Eyes are on Cyprus as banks reopened (after nearly two weeks of closure) and many people wait for the next shoe to drop wherever that is in the world. The future of currency is becoming electronic (virtual) as is everything else ... even reality. :)

Bitcoin prices surge post-Cyprus bailout   CNN - March 28, 2013
Shares of the cyber-currency bitcoin have surged in the past week as investors seek safe havens following the unprecedented bailout of Cyprus' banks. Bitcoin is an unusual place to seek security. It's a four-year-old digital currency developed by a hacker who still remains anonymous.

Cyprus banks reopen amid tight security and tough curbs   BBC - March 28, 2013
Banks in Cyprus have reopened after a two-week closure sparked by discussions on an EU-IMF bailout, amid tension over possible large-scale withdrawals. Branches were replenished with cash overnight and police were deployed amid fears of a run on the banks.

"Cyprus euro" a boon to US dollar: James Saft   Reuters - March 28, 2013
One clear winner from Cyprus's imposition of capital controls is the U.S. dollar, which stands to benefit from public and private flows after another round of damage to the euro's reserve currency status.

Sex

These are some of the hard issues facing us ... (interesting visual). Bill Gates wants to make a better condom ... would it be called "micro" "soft"? Fifteen years ago today, Viagra changed everything. Was a stone age dildo discovered in Israel - or was it just another fertility symbol? Gay issues continue to make the headlines. In the end ... people should do whatever they are programmed to. Remember, in another lifetime you may have been gay. People want to smoke weed, drink and have sex ... leaving one to conclude .... nothing has changed since the beginning of the program. Even the pope has come out for the use of condoms under certain circumstances. And so we shall go out as we came in ... with a Big Bang!

Viagra: The little blue pill that could   CNN - March 27, 2013
Fifteen years ago, men who were suffering from impotence received a beacon of hope in the form of a little blue pill. Wednesday marks the 15th anniversary of Viagra's FDA approval in the United States. Viagra currently holds 45% of the sexual dysfunction market share, with competitor Cialis in close second, according to industry researcher IMS Health. There were 8 million Viagra prescriptions written in 2012 with total sales of about $2 billion.

Gates wants geeks to build a better condom   CNN - March 26, 2013
Bill Gates is putting out a call to inventors, but he's not looking for software, or the latest high-tech gadget. This time he's in search of a better condom. On its Grand Challenges website, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is offering a $100,000 startup grant to the person who designs "the next generation condom that significantly preserves or enhances pleasure" and promotes "regular use."

Milwaukee artist creates stunning portrait of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI out of 17,000 condoms   NY Daily News - March 27, 2013
Niki Johnson, 25, calls the work 'Eggs Benedict' and drew inspiration from a speech on AIDS the Pope made on a 2009 tour of Africa, which noted prophylactics actually increase the prevalence of HIV infection.

Stone Age Phallus Found in Israel   Live Science - March 26, 2013
Some remarkable traces of Stone Age life were unearthed recently in northern Israel, including a pit of burned bean seeds and a carving of a penis that's more than 6,000 years old, the Israeli Antiquities Authority (IAA) reported. Archaeologists are excavating at Ahihud Junction ahead of the construction of a new Israeli railroad line to the city of Karmiel. They found evidence of ancient settlements from two eras: the Pre-Pottery Neolithic period and the Early Chalcolithic period (7th millennium B.C. - 5th millennium B.C.).

Day Two of same-sex marriage at Supreme Court   CNN - March 27, 2013
Day Two of the culture wars at the Supreme Court over same-sex marriage, and another opportunity for the justices to give political and legal clarity to a contentious issue. The momentous week kicked off on Tuesday with arguments over California's same-sex marriage ban, and there was little indication when they concluded how the court might rule.

Report says most gay and lesbian students in New York City are harassed because of their sexuality   New York Daily News - March 27, 2013
Gay teens gathered at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in Manhattan to discuss issues they have faced in dealing with their sexuality. Most of New YorkÕs gay and lesbian students are being harassed at school because of their sexuality, a new report found. According to "School Climate in New York," from the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network, the majority of students in the state who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender have been victimized because of their sexual orientation, are routinely exposed to homophobic slurs and, in some cases, have been physically assaulted.

Straight marriage is the real issue   CNN - March 26, 2013
The Supreme Court will hear arguments this week in two same-sex marriage cases. Whatever the justices do, the outcome seems foreordained. When 80% of Americans under 30 agree about something, that something will happen -- it's only a matter of time. But while straight young Americans support marriage for gays, increasingly they opt against marriage for themselves. Nearly half of American children, 48%, are now born to unmarried women. Among women without college degrees, and of all races, unwed motherhood has become the norm.

The issue isn't gay marriage ...

The issue people need to address is not gay marriage but "marriage" itself, and what it means today. Most of us become more liberal as the years pass because we see failure as nothing more than a learning lesson, generally painful, sometimes tragic. It's often no one's fault, just the way life programs us for experience. We spent way too much time analyzing why we do what we do, beating ourselves up for failed relationships, or just blaming everything that went wrong on the other person. I rarely read a client going through a separation, where that person doesn't blame everything wrong on their crazy ex-partner. Maybe that's true or maybe feeling controlled by another brings out the worst in people until they crash. As a psychic, what I see is two people who no longer belong together, maybe never did, have completed their karma (usually the children), and need to move on. This is true with gay and straight couples, but you already know that. If the couple doesn't separate, they will bring out the worst in each other and issues will become legal ... and more legal. Speaking of legal ...

New pope, old pope meet for lunch   CNN - March 23, 2013
Pope Francis is having lunch Saturday with his predecessor, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, in what may be an encounter unprecedented in Church history. Since a new pope usually takes the reins only following the death of his predecessor, this is a rare occurrence.

Friday Notes

Another week is ending as we move towards Spring break for some and holidays for whoever celebrates Passover and Easter. I love the fact that Pope Francis seems to be more liberal than his predecessors - but is there a hidden agenda? If anything, it makes the game more interesting as people follow his actions. We all know the church has to change. He may appear to make a progressive commitment, but that doesn't mean he won't run the Church as a conservative. This week, the Pope admitted he was "dazzled" by a girl - which means - he's a guy and has normal male physical reactions to women ... and he's not gay.

Did you know that 1 in 6 Americans is Hispanic? That is the reported number. I believe it is higher.

Focus on Cyprus: Under pressure from the European Central Bank to quickly reach a deal or risk a cutoff of financing for Cypriot banks, members of the Cypriot Parliament will vote today on yet another revamped formula for an international bailout. It's like watching the same financial issues - country by country - whose solutions are being played out in a supposedly new and better ways - all failures. There are no solutions.

Obama is concluding his trip to Israel and the West Bank. This reaps of secrets. What was that all about?

It looks like Mary Jane is moving to Florida in 2014. Medical Marijuana? Seniors getting high and driving? As if things were bad enough ...

More shootings ... it's becoming the norm as insanity hits new heights. I have never seen so much frustration, anger, and venting as I see in people today. There are those who vent in person or on the phone to express their emotions and get it all out .... then there are the cowards who say it in email and social networking. Best suggestion ... don't engage in email ... just move on. This year we wandered in a strange new world ...

Do you expect peace now or ever? A 3D hologram, created by electromagnetic energy, is programmed to forever seek balance and never find it until it ends. The program always finds balance to some degree then, by its very nature, will create imbalance. (Blogged that in 1995 and on and on and on). I'm still not sure why the program hasn't ended and really wish we were given the tools to better understand the complexities that form our experiences here.

Oasis

In geography, an oasis (plural: oases) or cienega (Southwestern United States) is an isolated area of vegetation in a desert, typically surrounding a spring or similar water source. Oases also provide habitat for animals and even humans if the area is big enough. The location of oases has been of critical importance for trade and transportation routes in desert areas. Caravans must travel via oases so that supplies of water and food can be replenished. Thus, political or military control of an oasis has in many cases meant control of trade on a particular route. For example, the oases of Awjila, Ghadames and Kufra, situated in modern-day Libya, have at various times been vital to both North-South and East-West trade in the Sahara.

Oases are formed from underground rivers or aquifers such as an artesian aquifer, where water can reach the surface naturally by pressure or by man made wells. Occasional brief thunderstorms provide subterranean water to sustain natural oases, such as the Tuat. Substrata of impermeable rock and stone can trap water and retain it in pockets, or on long faulting subsurface ridges or volcanic dikes water can collect and percolate to the surface. Any incidence of water is then used by migrating birds who also pass seeds with their droppings which will grow at the water's edge forming an oasis.

Terraforming

Terraforming (literally, "Earth-shaping") of a planet, moon, or other body is the hypothetical process of deliberately modifying its atmosphere, temperature, surface topography or ecology to be similar to the biosphere of Earth, in order to make it habitable by humans. Mars is usually considered to be the most likely candidate for terraforming. Much study has been done concerning the possibility of heating the planet and altering its atmosphere, and NASA has even hosted debates on the subject.

Transformation

The thing you're looking for most this Spring is already there. It's about reinvention - changing who you are to find your destiny. Experience has taught us that people can't also do that, though they try. I hope you find your truth now, and you will forever be changed, if only emotionally. This morning, the fragrance of powder from a vintage lady's compact, circa 1940's, wafted on and off through my room, as if bringing a message through time. This was my "gift of spring".

Terms of Endearment

Sunday - there's an increase in solar activity today -- Here comes the sun. Little darling ...

Why do I have problems being addressed with most "terms of endearment" such as "darling, honey, sweetie, baby, etc.?" I like to be called "Ellie"... that's it! It's my frequency signature here. The rest, even Crystal or El, are not me and belong to parts of the grid that do not resonate with who I am here. It's interesting that the British term "Luv" has a positive resonance. I'm one of those Americans who loves the British accent.

Numbers are the Key

Monday March 11 on Ellie's World

    John 11:33-38

Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. The name Lazarus is Latinized from the Hebrew Eleazar, a priest in the Hebrew Bible, the second Kohen Gadol (High Priest) - succeeding his father Aaron. He was also Moses' nephew.

Resurrection of Lazarus: Jesus came to the tomb of Lazarus who had been dead for 4 days, and was laid to rest in a cave with a stone across the entrance. Jesus asked a crowd of Jewish mourners to roll the stone away then said a prayer ... after which Lazarus walked out of the cave.

There was a time, not long ago,
There came to pass, there was a river,
And at the river stood the tree.
Below the tree were two stones.

Your Soul came to rest beside the Tree.
It saw the Magic White Stone,
The other as yet unseen.

And you were told, that you were Chosen.
Now you must take your stone,
and find your destiny.

Use the powers of your stone to guide you,
And protect you until we are joined again.

Friday March 15

After watching the TV series Touch I went to bed at 10:00pm. I woke with a start at 11:11 then fell back to sleep. Strangely I awoke again at: 11:29 and 11:56. The pattern is 11:11 which again took me to Lazarus. I also saw this image.

As this week winds down, the highlight was the election of Pope Francis I. Sunday brings St. Patrick's Day and fun for those celebrating. Winter relationships will end now as souls seek freedom. It's almost Spring and with that things are changing ... jobs, moves, relationships, travel plans, weather, etc. Summer relationships await many people, especially the romantics.
