Winners

There was no winner in the Powerball drawing last night. Let the games continue as we fantasize about what we would do if we won $1billion. I would give most of it to my children and grandchildren when they come of age.

Pittsburg Steelers Win

Dylan, Zsia, Michael, and Jon after the game where friends joined them to cheer on their favorite team. Great party.

Ben Roethlisberger "rose from the ashes" to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals.

In case you missed it ... As his team began to self-destruct out on the Paul Brown Stadium turf without him, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger tossed a few passes in an interior hallway in the bowels of the stadium as he tried to gauge the severity of an injury to his right shoulder. He'd ask for score updates, and he could hear from the roars from the home crowd that the Cincinnati Bengals must have been making a comeback, and Roethlisberger made a choice: Balky shoulder or not, pain or not, he was going back to the sidelines. How much he could throw, how hard or how well, he had no idea. But he needed to be on the sideline as his team's season was in limbo, and if head coach Mike Tomlin wanted him back on the field, Roethlisberger wanted to answer that call. Finally, with one last chance to win the game, coach and quarterback made eye contact and gave each other a nod, and Roethlisberger jogged back into the huddle. What Roethlisberger did in the final 83 seconds of the Steelers' 18-16 wild-card win against the Bengals on Saturday night will now become part of his legend. Down 16-15 and knowing he didn't have the strength to attempt any deep passes, Roethlisberger led a game-winning drive through a series of short passes, including a 12-yard completion to Antonio Brown on fourth down.

His one deep shot, intended for Brown down the seam, fell incomplete. But Brown absorbed a blow to the head from Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict, and the resulting personal foul - and a subsequent one on cornerback Adam Jones - was enough to set up the game-winning field goal. That incomplete pass and personal foul gave the Steelers' new life in a game that seemed over with 96 seconds remaining. But that's what these last two weeks have been for the Steelers, new ways to advance thanks to the miscues of others. Last week, the Steelers' fortune - a wild-card playoff berth - came thanks to a New York Jets' loss. Now a series of boneheaded plays by the Bengals, combined with Roethlisberger's gritty final drive heroics, have sent the Steelers to the divisional round of the AFC playoffs. The Steelers will play at the Denver Broncos next Sunday, with the winner advancing to the AFC championship game. But just how ready will the Steelers be for that game?

73rd Golden Globes

Lots of buzz about who will win a Golden Globe tonight. How does one pick the winners with all that talent and amazing performances. Will there be a moment we will all remember? I just realized the golden globes turn 73 as next month so do I.

This season I'm not into award shows as in the past. There are better shows on TV tonight so I'll record the show and watch during the week. "The Good Wife" returns tonight as Peter Florrick (Chris Noth), Alicia's husband on the show, campaigns for President and takes the family with him.

US Presidential Election

The battle for the White House that has entertained, outraged and baffled Americans for the past year, is about to get real. With the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary quickly approaching, a presidential race that has largely unfolded on television screens, debate stages, packed rallies and a slew of polls is now shifting into a serious test of political endurance. Who will win and who will chose to drop out? I still think Tump has a chance to win at this level. It's like watching the football playoffs ... Place your bet.
