FAO Schwartz Reopens

It's one week until Thanksgiving and six and a half weeks till Christmas. It's that time of the year people shop for toys and other gifts. As you know Toys 'R Us is gone and many retail stores simply can't compete with Amazon and websites of that kind. Next week is Black Friday although we know sales have been going on for weeks.

Here's a NYC blast from the past as a client came to see me yesterday who starts work at the new FAO Schwartz in Manhattan which reopens tomorrow at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Years ago I had another client who was a professional shopper at FAO Schwartz for the rich and famous. What great stories she shared about the shopping habits of celebrities.

The current Midtown Manhattan store will be staffed with demonstrators, magicians and men and women playing costumed roles, including toy soldiers. The new location is as much about the experience as the shopping ... as people visit from near and far. Who's having more fun ... mom ... dad or the kids?

I remember taking my children - and my grandchildren to buy toys at FAO Schwartz then strolling along 5th Avenue enjoying the holiday energies and window displays.

Many areas, such as new England, are known for their beauty and holiday spirit over this holiday season but NYC can compete with the best of them. We need a little magic especially this year which so much going on.

What I remember most of about FAO Schwartz was the dance-on piano which will return.

With snow in the air and just starting in Brooklyn, holiday plans are taking shape and it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.

I made this video Thursday evening of another tenant in my building whose BMW SUV got stuck going up the driveway ramp as he tried to get out before the snow was cleared away.

Friday - While the west coast deals with record setting wildfires and their aftermath ... 1,300 miles of country - from the midwest to the east coast - deals with record setting snowfall and its aftermath in 13 states - and it's only November. New York had its biggest November snowfall in 136 years with 6.4 inches. The sun is out ... the wind has subsided ... temperatures rising into the 40's washing away the ice and snow.

No one was expecting a storm of the magnitude stranding thousands of people and causing untold damage. Always remember - the end comes out of the blue.

52nd Country Music Association Awards - CMAd

The CMAs, are presented to country music artists and broadcasters to recognize outstanding achievement in the country music industry. The televised annual presentation ceremony features performances and award presentations by popular country music artists, with occasional appearances from pop and rock artists. The 52nd annual ceremony will be held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee and broadcast by ABC.

I may be a Jewish girl from Brooklyn but I was raised but my daddy on country and western music so I consider myself part of that culture along with good old rock 'n' roll.

I remember listening to country greats on the radio and collecting vinyl by some of the famous singers and musicians of the 1940's and 50's. Yep I go back that far. I enjoy visiting Nashville for the music and line dancing and never miss country award shows.

Remembering Stan Lee - Marvel Comics

Most of us read them. Some were collectors. Others followed the adventures of not only the Marvel characters but also creative director Stan Lee.

The comic book world - and millions around the whole world - mourn the loss of Stan Lee, the Marvel Comics master who helped create some of pop culture's most iconic characters: Spider-Man, the X-Men, Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man and Black Panther, just to name a few. He was visionary who inspired many generations.

Stan Lee died Monday in Los Angeles at age 95. Lee sparked an innovation in comic book storytelling in the 1960s and watched it grow into a movie phenomenon. The Marvel Cinematic Universe - the slew of movies based on his characters - has made nearly $18 billion over the past decade. Hollywood heavyweights who brought Lee's characters to life - like Robert Downey Jr. and Hugh Jackman - paid tribute. California is Burning

It looks like a war zone not at all the scenic state we are all familiar with. Wildfires of this kind can create many things from mudslides to earthquakes to poor air quality reminding me of the days we talked about LA smog.

As I sit here typing ... the image of one of my recent clients - who grows weed and runs a pot dispensary in northern California - came to mind. Wildfires are getting worse each year. .... One could say that about all Earth Changes as they accelerate exponentially in end times. Sadly insanity rages along with wildfires. All you can do is be prepared if that.

Not effected directly, but I'm in Santa Barbara this weekend for a music workshop. I couldn't drive directly because of road closures due to the fires. When I drove (405N - 118W - 23S-101N) last night after dark I could see fires in the hills, not many fires probably because of smoke. My house is not in danger. A musician friend, with whom I played a week ago today in her house on Malibu Canyon Blvd, is playing music as an evacuee. Rough times, getting worse. A procession of more than 25,000 service members and veterans marched up Fifth Avenue. All branches of the military showed their stars and stripes. Some played music, and others chanted marching cadances. The parade began at Madison Square Park with an opening ceremony and wreath-laying attended by Sen. Chuck Schumer. Attendees said they came to show their support for the people who fight for our freedom to this day.

Scorpio in Mythology is the Anunnaki (Creation) and Egypt (Eye - Wings).

On this day I was drawn to the shore where I met a friend named Colette who randomly suggested the picture above.

After posting I googled the name Colette and discovered it means "Victorious".

Colette shot this video where I found a lucky penny covered in bird poop.

When I posted to Facebook - half way through - the video turned upside down.

It doesn't show that way on my phone or on Instagram.

There is a belief that if a bird poops on you, your car or your property, you may receive good luck and riches. For us, the Pick 3 Lottery Ticket we bought [2,2,2] paid off and may have been sign for my work here.

Sadly on this day there were those whose luck was about to change at the Borderline Bar and Grill where mostly college students had met for a fun evening. Thousand Oaks Shooting.

Once again our hearts go out to those who died in this tragic event. How many of these blogs have I written? How many people have died - wrong place - wrong time?

Once again we see another case of out of control mental illness with devastating consequences leaving behind emotional wounds that ripple across the country. So much loss - so much insanity.

Sadly this will accelerate until the end along with events in the political landscape that keep us engaged in the simulation. With the Midterm elections just about over, the games continue. Hopefully this all ends soon as many are stressed to the max.

and her friends were attending a concert by a rapper named Russ.

After receiving a video Joie texted from the concert - I couldn't help wondering how safe students are at events - or for that matter at school. These days it appears no one is safe anywhere as we continue the motions of everyday life touched by the frequencies of all sorts of violence - all the while hoping for the best.

Joie and her friends are aware of the craziness in the world, as it has become part of their culture. But they are young and have to experience growing up just as we did - pitfalls and all. Joie's dad was a DJ when he attended college continuing on weekends as a young adult. Joie's parents met at a concert in AZ over 20 years ago when they were in their 20's.

Music is part of our soul experience. For some it's a catharsis of the traumas they face - for others its pure enjoyment. It frames our moods and experiences. There is nothing like it as we are all tuned in to different frequencies. Living in NYC - music has always been part of my life. I still remember the concerts friends and I went to in the late 1950s (the Rock n' Roll years) at the Paramount Theatre in downtown Brooklyn - and of course there was always Broadway when a good seat cost $5.00.

Yesterday I bought Joie this RUSS album on eBay.

By now you know the Democrats took back the House and the GOP held the Senate. In order for humans to remain engaged in the simulation until it ends, Trump has to continue on and have some backing so the Senate remains in the hands of the Republicans.

Women and LGBT candidates made history. Bravo and congratulations to all the winners. The races were pretty much as we expected though hope lingered till the end for many of the candidates who lost by a small margin and those who supported them.

They say as a nation we remain divided on many issues, which is the norm in a dualistic reality. If you look at the statistics and ask people their beliefs, Americans are actually in agreement on many issues especially on health care in a wounded society.

The 2018 Midterm Elections were a referendum on Trump, his policies, and his behavior - and yet by virtue of the strong GOP showing in the Senate his allure still endures for a big part of the country, but that too will change in 2020.

Gubernatorial races: Here in NY all all knew Andrew Cuomo would win. One could feel the energies of Democrats trying to push on to victories, with some gains and close calls in states such as Florida and Georgia.

Women

Ocasio-Cortez will be youngest woman ever elected to Congress something I really embraced as she represents NY.

Sunday night Football did not disappoint. (Packers Jacket) and Matthew (Patriots Jacket) and their friend Ben (Patriots #87 Gronkowski) - got to see the Patriots beat the Packers as quarterbacks Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers kept everyone engaged to the end. In case you don't know - I'm a Patriot fan and like the Steelers who also won yesterday in another great game. Local teams - Jets and Giants are not worth posting about.

Sacred Ground?

Last Saturday we saw violence against Jews in the Pittsburg Synagogue Shooting. Less than a week later Scott Beierle entered a yoga studio in Tallahassee shooting six people, killing two women.

Aren't both of these places supposed to represent the spiritual sides of life where people go to find peace, balance and connection to something greater than the madness of today's world?

So here I sit, a Jewish woman. What should I feel? Strangely I don't feel anything. I just see the madness as part of closure with a knowing that it's not over until it's over.

Oumuamua: Asteroid? Comet? Alien Solar Sail?

'Oumuamua is the first interstellar object detected passing through the Solar System. It is a small stellar object that some think could be a UFO or solar sail send to explore outer space.

Formally designated 1I/2017 U1, it was discovered by Robert Weryk using the Pan-STARRS telescope at Haleakala Observatory, Hawaii, on 19 October 2017, 40 days after it passed its closest point to the Sun. When first seen, it was about 33,000,000 km (21,000,000 mi; 0.22 AU) from Earth (about 85 times as far away as the Moon), and already heading away from the Sun.

It has a dark red color, similar to objects in the outer Solar System. 'Oumuamua showed no signs of a comet tail despite its close approach to the Sun, but has since undergone non-gravitational acceleration consistent with comet outgassing. It has significant elongation and rotation rate, so it is thought to be metal-rich with a relatively high density.

'Oumuamua is tumbling, rather than smoothly rotating, and is moving so fast relative to the Sun that there is no chance it originated in the Solar System. It also means that 'Oumuamua cannot be captured into a solar orbit, so it will eventually leave the Solar System and resume traveling through interstellar space.'Oumuamua's system of origin and the amount of time it has spent traveling amongst the stars are unknown.

In September 2018, astronomers described several possible home star systems from which 'Oumuamua may have begun its interstellar journey. However, the object did not pass particularly close to any of those objects, making its origin from any one of them improbable. Read more

2018 Midterm Elections

Only four more days of campaigning so hang in as we continue to get bombarded by advertisers, candidates, and volunteers urging people to vote on Tuesday. My mailbox fills each day with endless glossy flyers. Volunteers ring my bell.

The elections take place in the energies of a New Moon in Scorpio, so lots of people are going to get stung, hopefully not Americans already stuck in the divisive dramas of the Trump administration.

The Spirit of Halloween

Spirits generally come to my readings but I never know who is going to show up so I make no promises beforehand. Yesterday was Halloween, often associated with Spirits.

My Halloween Blog was about a reading I did with Courtney, 30, who lives in NJ, is married and thinking about having a baby. Today she emailed:

I really enjoyed our time together yesterday.

I remembered when the clicking was going on at the start of the reading, you said I may end up hearing a spirit talking on the recording.

The very first sound on my recording (loud and clear) is a baby cooing. It's undeniably a baby. It's unbelievably clear and undoubtedly a baby noise.

I just wanted to share that with you, because you said babies were nudging you the entire time. We're mind blown over here!!
