Memorial Day Weekend ... the unofficial start of summer ... holiday mode begins ... many people leaving on vacation returning Monday or Tuesday. In the city, it's often a trip out to the eastern Long Island vacation areas, such as the Hamptons or a barbecue with friends and family. In exactly one week, I'll be flying off to Williamsburg, VA. [Ellie making her lists.] I actually have a packing list that I print out and reference from trip to trip.
As a former teacher, this time the year is often burning out as the school year ends. I've always viewed this from the teacher/parent perspective - but now I'm realizing that children are also burned out from academics and extracurricular activities. If you have a child in school - think about the hours they put in keeping up with their daily lives. Youth doesn't necessarily mean they have unlimited energy, especially as they are still growing physically, emotionally, and mentally. Some students need this break to just relax. Others take summer jobs, go to camp, and/or travel with friends and family. Enjoy.
Headed to never ...never land ...
Ships (see below) have portals and hopefully the LHC will open one.
LHC smashes energy record with test collisions BBC - May 21, 2015
A new record has been set by the Large Hadron Collider: its latest trials have smashed atoms with vastly more energy than ever before. On Wednesday night, two opposing beams of protons were steered into each other at the four collision points spaced around the LHC's tunnel. The energy of the collisions was 13 trillion electronvolts - dwarfing the eight trillion reached during the LHC's first run, which ended in early 2013.
