October Begins With ...

Hurricane Joaquin

October in the Atlantic starts the month of magic off with Hurricane Joaquin headed our way though no one is quite sure when and where it will land. You can follow its path on the news. This is not another Hurricane Sandy Event, which many know will happen again.

According to Wikipedia, a hurricane is actually a tropical cyclone or rapidly rotating storm system characterized by a low-pressure center, strong winds, and a spiral arrangement of thunderstorms that produce heavy rain.

U.S. Government Shutdown Averted

As I am sure you all knew, the government shutdown once again would be averted, but as this happened in Mercury Retrograde it is only temporary. A federal spending bill, adopted just hours before the new fiscal year began today, leaves the core dispute between Republicans and Democrats unchanged ... as always. Other big news this week goes to Tesla Motors who introduced the futuristic Tesla Model X though Tesla share only rose less than 1% yesterday. Not to worry. The car is here to stay ... evolving the auto industry.

There is nothing cheap out there anymore and the taxes are crazy! Most people who come to Brooklyn rent or buy in areas close to the city so they can commute to work by subway in 15 minutes or so. We also find new subcultures emerging in these areas which are gentrifying from slums to upscale housing. Many residents are into all things linked to health, fitness, and healing - from food to green housing, etc. It's a statement.

This takes us to ...
