Here in the city it's overcast this morning, but through the day things will brighten up. Police cars are lining up along 4th Avenue in preparation for our annual parade. The 151st Brooklyn's Memorial Day Parade is the nation's oldest Memorial Day parade held in a large city. This year Lt. Gen. Robert L. Caslen Jr., the superintendent of the United States Military Academy at West Point, will lead the procession as grand marshal. Read more about the parade

Manhattanhenge - sometimes referred to as the Manhattan Solstice - is an event during which the setting sun is aligned with the east-west streets of the main street grid of Manhattan in New York City. This occurs twice a year, on dates evenly spaced around the summer solstice. The first Manhattanhenge occurs at the end of May and the second mid-July.
