Traveling in December

Wednesday, people traveled from all over to see the 84th Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting - featuring my former next door neighbor and classmate Neil Diamond from Manhattan Beach Brooklyn. He still sounds great. People will visit the city from all around the world over the next month.

December is month of travel for millions, including Santa. Do you have any plans? My only plan is a quick trip with my friend Leslie, who I also met in Manhattan Beach long ago, in her stretch limo on Sunday ... destination unknown ...

Over in Trumpland - as if on the campaign trail again - Trump heads to Ohio today for a rally thanking voters for embracing his anti-establishment message. (Let's see where that takes us.) From there, he'll visit Indiana to meet with workers at a Carrier plant that decided against moving about 1,000 jobs to Mexico. Did Mike Pence negotiate that deal? Expect news about Trump every day until ... forever.

After Trump was elected - the NYC subway system at Union Square set up a wall for people to leave post-its for those grieving the results of the presidential election. It's called "Subway Therapy". It appears to be a source of solace and inspiration. It reminds me of a place people left messages after 9/11. Our journey in physical reality is all about wounds and therapy.

Wednesday on the news, they talked about traveling as therapy and a preferred gift over an item.

Traveling this month are refugees both at home and abroad looking for a comfort zone. Deadly wildfires in Tennessee engulfed two popular tourist towns leading into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park left at least seven dead and hundreds of buildings damaged or destroyed.
