Friday Memos - The Past

Crystalinks server updates are complete, backed up, and working perfectly and faster, as there is more capacity. The only thing that didn't come over was the old stats program. I could check Crystalinks google analytics every day, but have decided to do a pass on that for now as websites today don't post stats anymore and they are generally the same for most weeks. For now, they are just under one million readers per day for the summer when students and teachers are away. I will check back in the fall and see.

New Zealand scours shorelines for ship carrying Briton, Americans   CNN - June 28, 2013
Rescuers are holding out hope of finding six Americans and one Briton after their vintage sailboat went missing in early June off the coast of New Zealand. After sweeping searches by a reconnaissance plane hundreds of miles out to sea came up empty, maritime authorities have shifted their sights to coastlines in the country's northern shores and islands. The Nina, a historic wooden racing schooner built in 1928, went incommunicado on June 4, Maritime New Zealand said, having left port in Opua days before.


Remember when we followed crop circles every year ...

This hourglass crop circle at Silbury Hill, Nr Avebury, Wiltshire, UK. reminds us that most of the formations were manmade - another remnant of the past that held fascination ... but for today no relevance.
