Sunday

Over in Tampa, my friend John has been living in flooded conditions for days, as the rain continues to fall. Every day, he emails about his neighborhood where highways are flooded, his backyard is gone, neighbors have lost everything, and more. Yesterday, he wrote, "Hope I can get back home - Full Moon, Higher Tides".

On the west coast, we have all read about wildfires, drought, record breaking temperatures and more.

Another round of heavy rain and storms has caused flooding around the Tampa Bay area. Street flooding has been reported throughout the Tampa Bay area, but Tampa was hit particularly hard this time. Viewers posted or sent in countless photos shooting street flooding in Tampa.

Myanmar floods: UN says death toll 'to rise'   BBC - August 2, 2015
The death toll from floods in Myanmar is expected to rise over the coming days, the United Nations has warned. Four western regions have been declared disaster zones after heavy floods, caused by monsoon rains, left at least 27 people dead. But rescue teams have not yet reached many areas and are still awaiting reports on the worst-hit regions.

Flight MH370 Update

MH370 search: 'Second plane part' found on Reunion   BBC - August 2, 2015
A second piece of suspected plane debris has washed ashore on the Indian Ocean island of Reunion, after a wing part suspected to come from the missing flight MH370 was found on Wednesday. The object, believed to be the door of an aircraft, was discovered just south of the city of St Denis. It is said to have writing on it and possibly some illustration. The Malaysia Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing disappeared last March with 239 people on board.
